As I am now fully working from home as a web site designer and the family has agreed to it as well I am allowed to have a pooch again. Yeah!!!!
So if anyone knows of a medium sized dog that needs a good home?
I would like a black or chocolate coloured labrador or a pointer or setter of some sort. But no golden retrievers, dobermans, pitbulls of any kind or Rotweilers.
Preferable a bitch up to 2 years old. Can also be a cross but not crossed with a pitbull. In or around London, Kent, Sussex or Essex!
Please let me know! Thank You!!!!!
Danny

Hi Danny, Have you considered a rescue dog, as the RSPCA will have lots for you to choose from.

Hi Danny
Maybe you should try Battersea Dogs Home. They are in London and have lots of doggies that are hoping for new homes. I warn you though, you might want to take them all home if you go!
Netty.

Hi Blendeoils,
I hear you are looking for a dog, well I agree with the others why not get one from a rescue home? Although a dog may have problems there are ways of dealing with these. I myself have 2 rescued dogs, both mad as mad can be, but I would not be without them!
RE: A companion dog wanted
Staffordshire bull terriers, built well incredibly good with children the best to have (nicknamed the Nanny), can be a bit loopy but soppy as anything fortunately the burglars wouldnt know that!

ps dogs homes will have some staffies but check their background as much as you can as they can be used for fighting dogs.......or try the kennel club they will list breeders for a particular breed and whether there are any dogs available.....

Hello BlendedOils
In your search for a pooch you might like to try the DogsTrust (formerly National Canine Defence League) as they have kennels all around the country and try to match up the dog with you i.e. they won't just let anyone take them away if the dog/lifestlyes don't work. They also often have a background about the dog and won't let dogs that have behavioral problems be taken until they have had therapy! The downside is that you feel the dogs are very well looked after and might prefer to take a chance at a local kennels where the dogs are not as well treated but you know nothing about. (Depends if you are willing to take a risk).
You could also try rehoming an ex-racing/failed racer Greyhound as they require only three 20 min walks a day and are usually very docile. (Not always a good option if you have cats although some are OK), and if the theory that owners look like their dogs is true you will always look sleek and elegant!
You can also ask at your local vets as they often know of people who are looking to rehome pets.
For anyone reading this who, like me, no longer has a lifestlye that means they can have a dog, the Dogs Trust have a sponsor scheme where you can sponsor those that can't be rehomed due to problems (sometimes due to abuse rather than because they are naughty). You can visit them and buy them treats etc and sometimes take them walkies if you live nearby.
I'll shut up now - hope this is useful!
