I cannot remember this being done on HP before but I propose a thread for posting forward..

that is Recycling

I have recently been given a pack of tarot cards...some lovely Garden Perennials (courtesy of Treacle), a self healing book (courtesy of Beckyboop922), and in return I am sending some relaxation CD's to Star99.

So how about using this thread for those objects, that you are willing to give for free. That of course means you will be paying the postage, and the recipient will need to trust you with their address via PM, not posted on here...but..what goes around comes around..

So make your offer, and i think it would be courteous for the exchange to be noted publicly on here that any postings have been succesfully received....

No replies yet Fleur, I wonder if people don't like the idea of being out of pocket by paying for postage. After all they can recycle on those freecycle sites and people will come and collect the items from you.

It could maybe work by doing what you said and putting the items on here and if there is an HP member in the same area that wants them.....? Good way of meeting some members too!

Hello both...I think its a great idea but I am not sure what I have (and don't want!) that others might like....
Please could I exclude Wednesdays winning lotto numbers but other than that - if people want something and I have it to pass on - then more than happy to join in.

depends how tall they are I suppose you could ensure plenty of compost round the root bagged securely, moistened, then wrapped in the usual way..we have had a number of plants from online and arrived OK. But is it a little late to be uprooting saplings now?? Bare root would have been no problem..:)

They're in pots, but you're right bare root trees should only be planted before Christmas.

* To all members - please read *

The moderators have given careful consideration to this thread, which has now been moved from General Discussions to FREE Goodies, and made into a 'sticky'.

We have decided to allow it for the time being and see how it goes. However, should there be any communications made, on or off the forum, which involves any commercial activity or exchanging items in return for money, we would have to take the reluctant decision to delete this thread.

We hope there will be some successful 'recycling' or swaps, and enjoyable RL meetings between members 🙂

I have a large cheese plant (about five feet tall) that would like a new home. It would need a chauffeur to take him/her away or I could deliver Lancs area.

I had free soap..

An interesting point about this recycling business....I have been lucky to have another unexpected freebie today.

I went into a health food shop today. Quite a long time ago I bought from there, some homemade soaps, and it was absolutely divine, creamy, and smelled delicious. I though I was ready for some more. However, that particular brand wasn't on the shelf, so I enquired. The owner said it had gone past it's sell by date, and hadn't sold very well . Anyway she got the box out of that back and said I could have it for free, as she couldnt sell it, she had been using it herself. Anyway, I just took two bars...so there we go.......what goes around comes around...:D

Fleur - glad they arrived OK - apologies for the lack of letter. The bushier geranium is rose scented and called candy dancer, the lemon one is much stronger so I tend to keep the plants on different windowsills or the lemon one overpowers the rose one.

All the plants benefit from some feed - I just use one of those green sticks that you push in the earth and which lasts a month - but the Swedish ivy particularly needs feed or the leaves go a pale creamy colour.

They are all plants that are easy to propagate and often benefit from being trimmed back so they bush up a bit, but it also means they are great to share so hope you enjoy passing them on!

Well I found another HP home for my plants to go to. I had the pleasure of meeting a certain hp member for coffee, well I had a cup of coffee, I think 'she' had a thimble of coffee - think it came in a dolls cup it was so small. What a rip off!
http://www.yowazzup.com/coffee/images/coffee-cup-ring.jp g">Well, maybe it wasn't quite this small!

Anyway, thanks Fleur for starting this thread and thanks HP for giving me the opportunity to 'find' new friends.:)

Um... I have a lovely long dark brown suede (size 8) coat that I am fed up with.

Also some only worn once suede camel brown long boots, with a 3" wedge heel with fur trimmed tops - (size 3)... up for grabs!

I am thinking the postage on the coat will be extortionate - as it's heavy.... so collect??
