Not sure if this has already been put forward but....

Hubby mentioned that on a forum he visits if someone posts a rather long post only the first part ( a few lines or the first short paragraph) is displayed and a button is present to click on if you wish to read the whole post. In light of the fact that often people write very long posts which elicit equally long responses it can be off-putting and a little tiresome to have to scroll through so much especially when you are just dipping in to take a quick peek at a forum as it were.

Hope I haven't offended anyone with this suggestion 😀

Helen

Each to their own, same here Helen, I just don't read posts longer than a paragaph. I just cannot and that is ok. Everyone have their own way of expressing some pithy and some long winded. But I totally get you. long is not for me either.

Forgot to put:

maybe we could have a button giving us the option of seeing the whole post?

Great idea! - except when it is my long post 😉

I think it would be a good idea, but probably won't happen!

Sometimes whole pages are taken up by a couple of posts from two or three members who obviously spark off each other - not much chance of anyone else getting a word in, so I just skim to see if I find anything interesting. How they find the time beats me! 🙂
