Oh my goodness. I can barely contain my excitement. This year's Strictly.... line up has been announced. It looks like they have upped the ante a bit this year

Am I alone in my excitement?

Oh no. That was very sad. Jimmi was unable to speak, he was so upset. Did you see how genuinely sorry Brendan was... went straight over and gave him a hug. And then did so a second time after the final dance.

As I've said before this is the first time I've watched SCD - and it's been fascinating on so many levels. No-one wants to leave now, do they? Last week Tina and this week Jimmi. It's not the worst dancers being sent home, is it?

How was it last year? How did the voting system make it different?

Jimmi??????? Why??? It should have been Michelle. If Ann doesn't go next week I may have to do something rash!

John Sargeant did the gracious thing last year and "resigned" as he knew the voting was going in for the wrong reasons.....but I cannot see Ann doing that now.

The two couples in the final two as voted for by the public, then had a danceoff...and the judges then chose who they wanted to go through. This year it's purely down to the public

On another forum I frequent, I have read that bookies are taking bets on Ann winning the whole thing.

Now that really would annoy me.

When Claudia interviewed Michelle and Jimi, on the eviction show, he said that he thought Ann would win.

Ditto to what fleur says - I likewise don't think that Ann will resign... she'll see it as taking away the public's right to choose who they want. My feeling though is that once it gets to the big three: Scott, Kara and Matt the public will not choose one of those to go over Ann. She may win over the rest of them, but not those three.

Have to say I love Ann and would love to see her win it. It's not a serious dance competition, it's Friday night television 😉

Indeed. But it would be nice to see the best dancer win, and not the worst one.

But I guess that's always going to be subjective anyway 🙂

The best dancer is the one who does it perfectly. The worst one is the one who doesn't.

But then isn't perfection subjective ava? The judges voting scores often seem to support this notion ...

If this was a serious dance competition, Ann would not stand a chance of making it to the finals, but as it isn't ... While I don't think she will win (though I'd love to see it happen) I think she'll be around for a little longer. Time will tell 🙂

Good old fashioned Saturday night entertainment!

Yes, that's absolutely true. But Ann is not technically perfect and hence will never be at the top of the leader board. So, she'll never be the best dancer for any dance or any week. I do take your point - and you are right (echoing what Len says) - that it is an entertainment show, and points are awarded for being entertaining as well as for technical skill. But (and I stamp my foot!) the finalists should be the best dancers.

I think Anton would do well to introduce a bit of ballet for Ann - how about this for a routine???? (lasts about 4 minutes and may make your eyes water!!)

Kara was incredible, Scott was incredible, Gavin was the best he's been, Patsy is getting so much better, both Pam and Matt were good but not the best, Felicity was average, Michelle was very bad, Ann was a disaaaaaster darling.

I think it'll be Michelle and Felicity in the bottom two - with Michelle to go.

Yes, I'm amazed at how great Scott and Kara are. I don't think that either of them will get to the final (not with the public voting the way it is). I suspect it'll be Patsy or Gavin who win.

Felicity, Michele, Ann one of them must go this week. 🙂

Do wish Brucie would retire!

I can't stand him. The moment he comes on I turn the sound off, and I only turn it back on when he's off the screen. I guess that because he is An Institution people have memories of him in his better days, and like a favourite great aunt they ignore them metaphorically wetting themselves. But to anyone meeting this urine-soaked wet aunt for the first time it's difficult to not cringe and step away. That's how I feel about Brucie. He's creepy.

Well, it seems like this could be the start of the worst dancers going. Maybe the public got a shock last week that a strong dancer (and ditto with Tina the week before) left before several of the worst ones? Poor Michelle, re being in the bottom two four times. Best that she went, I think.

I agree. I didn't see the results show - who were the other couple in the bottom two?

Felicity and Vincent

Then Vincent was in his golden satin shirt dancing with Flavia as Alicia Dixon sang her latest.....seconds later he's back in his pink attire standing with Felicity waiting for the results.......just goes to show it's pre-recorded from Saturday....

Well, they are in Blackpool this weekend.

I have a feeling that we are going to see a shock elimination this week. I don't think it'll be Ann or Felicity (who it should be) - but something unfortunate like Gavin or Matt or Patsy or Pamela.

I'm looking forward to this one! I've not been to Blackpool but the buzz has piqued my curiosity.

What was wrong with Len last night? Poor Kara - and as for her marks! Ridiculous.

Please, oh great British Public, stop voting for Anne - Anton is going to do some serious damage to himself if he has to continue with her - plus it's no longer 'entertainment'.

Matt? Brilliant!

I haven't watched it yet - it wasn't put up on iPlayer last night.

I feel your pain, JTH, but Ann's not going anywhere. It's the GBP's act of rebellion . She'll not be voted out until a shock elimination happens... i.e. Scott or Kara or Matt or Patsy (the big favourites) go. Then they'll realise the joke has gone too far.

Yes swivel-hips Matt gets MY vote too.:):) I thought he was great last night and it's hard to believe he is not a professional.

I agree that Len was miserable last night and very discouraging. Hope they didn't take any notice of him.;)

I'm looking forward to seeing the professionals dance again tonight. Their choreography is always wonderful.

Poor Vincent! Have to say that I shed a tear with him! I was really hoping that Gavin and Anne would go before Felicity.

Matts past experience as a gymnast is obviously a bonus. I hope he does well.
