The Secret And The Journey Brandon Bays

These books have really made me realise positive thinking really does help you in life. The universe will deliever will deliver based on you thoughts. Positive thoughts postive things happen visa versa. Brandon Bays story was very inspiring she was able to rid herself of a tumor by positivity and healing. Emotional scars manifest themselfs as illness and riding yourself of them improves your health and able to live to your life to its full potential.:)

Great question...
'If Not Dieting, Then What?' Dr Rick Kausman really grabbed my attention to start to investigate other routes out there to weight management rather than depressing dieting.

I also love Dan Millman and his Peaceful Warrior books.

The Celestine Prophecy was one of the first books that made me really think differently about life and Dannion Brinkley's book 'Saved by The Light' was very interesting too.

Love and light

I found spirituality before the New Age (is it spiritual anyway?) really existed, so a great book for me was "The Masters And The Path" by C.W. Leadbeater.

Prior to that, as I aspired, and sort-of succeeded, to be a writer, I used to be too "fearful" or slow to put words down, making it painstaking. The works of Henry Miller in my teens, and also Jack Kerouac (who literally wrote a book in 3 days with no revision (The Dharma Bums I think) "freed me up" and liberated me to write quickly and not to be so fussy.

At school, the headmaster (me aged 12) insisted that every pupil read "Straight and Crooked Thinking" by whoever. I still recommend it. It trains you to avoid all the pitfalls of illogical thought - actually caused by incorrect wording and semantics often - that people fall prey to. It was an eye-opener, as I realised that I and everyone frequently fell into such "crooked" or illogical thought-processes.

These are early influences.

thanks v...i've never heard of straight and crooked thinking..in fact cant remember anything from school even though English was my best subject, going back quite a long time there..:D, sounds interesting..

my earliest books..were my mothers!!..so i had read my way through mills and boon, agatha christie , catherine cookson and ultimately jackie collins 😮 by an early age..before that were every comic and annual under the sun,, ive continued to read a lot more factual type books.. peoples experiences and stuff like that..in saying that ive just read two totally girly fiction books and enjoyed every minute..:)

Straight and Crooked Thinking

Here's Wiki on it:

Take a look at the synopsis. In online forum debates you get those examples all the time! 🙂 I think a lot more than in RL.

"Self Education" by Swami Paramananda not only because of the revelations in it but also the powerful meditation techniques it contains.

'Help yourself' by David Pelzer, I picked it up for a pound at a charity shop and it's the best pound that I have ever spent.:D

Journey of Souls & The Power of Now.

"Journey of Souls: Case studies of life between lives", by Michael Newton. It is a fascinating book about what happens after we die & before we are reborn. It is based on Dr Newtons real life case studies of hypnosis regression sessions with clients & how & what many, many people recall about what happens (after they died in previous lives to before they were reborn) under hypnosis is all very much the same. It really made me think about my life now, why things are the way they are & why I am the way I am etc. I didn't really believe much in past lives & reincarnation until I read this book.
Also, "The Power Of Now" (I can't remember the authors name) but it's about how to be mindful & really live & think in the moment as most of ones unhappiness & general bad feelings stem from thoughts of things/people/experiences/etc from the past or thinking about these things in relation to the future. It is a really interesting read but it can kind of make your brain hurt trying to get yor head around it lol but I would definately recommend it!

Too many to list here but Journey of Souls was one of them. Barbara Thiering's Jesus the Man was instrumental in my rethink on Christianity, followed by several others including the Nag Hammadi Tractates translated by Elaine Pagels. This was followed by many books on different aspects of religion and spiritual understanding, which entirely changed my understanding.

I must also add Patrick Holford's Optimum Nutrition Bible and Elizabeth Lipski's Digestive Wellness - they changed my whole way of understanding illness, looking at it from the biochemistry and not the symptoms! This has definitely changed my perspective on health.

heehee, follow yee nose, sun rose n who knows what you'll find, mebbe a book that changes yer mind! :speechless-smiley-0

love that doggy emoticon lol... :rollaugh:

krishnamurti is blinding, here's a youtube playlist, great watch, trust!

the insect book is ace, delivers on many levels...not a book i would have thought would change my mind or even interest me that much, so was a delightful surprise. peter tompkins is my fave author...2 others of his are "secrets of the soil" and the best seller "the secret life of plants". moontime is a modern classic...lots of good info for healing modalities; i.e. detox whilst the moon wanes, biorhythms, times of the day and month which relate to particular organs, great stuff...peace...:)
