As a teenager my initial ambition was to be a doctor.

I ended up in investment banking as a software engineer for many years. I am good at my job, but I do not fit in well with others. Always felt a sense of uneasiness. Not necessarily from a moral perspective, that is another debate, but always had a niggling feeling at the back of my head or a small voice telling me it is time to change direction.

I recently consulted a medium, and to my horror, she unexpectedly said I am a healer and that I am on the wrong path, over 30 years 🙁

So what now? *sigh*

Talk to a Careers Advisor and ask about medical training. It's never too late!

30 years....are not wasted. Neither was the path wrong.
Whatever chose to transpire in the course of your life is what it was. Making it wrong is to keep yourself bound to it.
Neither making it wrong, nor right. things are what they are. Mind puts a spin and with that spin either inflates or deflates -both are cluttered thoughts, not useful, providing no practical help to move forward
Now is the time, the only time.

Before you jump onto new ventures, I suggest attend to the sense of uneasiness that follows you around. Attend to it, let it make you uneasy and you allow that fully. As you do that, it will transform. And then it will also shine light into your heart, giving you clarity as to what needs to happen next.

A medium may be right or maybe wrong. Don't take anybody's word for it, find it deep within your own gut...then it will be easy, it will happen effortlessly and it will quench you

The uneasiness has a face, even a name. I recognise him and we are not friends. I am planning to leave the current environment in about year and embark on a new journey to get away from him as far as possible. Transformation is in progress and is unstoppable.

Thank you so much for your wise words.

There is no such thing as the wrong path.

I spent 40 years as a pharmacist and although I still work as a pharmacist I am now moving into doing varies holistic treatments. And I am in my 60's. I can bring my pharmacy skills to my work as a therapist. If you do decide to do medical training I suspect your software training will be useful. And certainly you will bring a different perspective to whatever healing work you decide to do. My years as a pharmacist were not wasted. they made me the person I am now.

But don't make huge changes just because a medium tells you to. You might benefit from a life coaching session....and I agree....its never too late. Good lcuk

I spent years in I.T. and then in my early 40s realized it wasn't fulfilling me as a whole person. So I set about to explore other paths - and, well, here I am!

What do you feel about being a healer? Does it feel right? Have you done any before?

I wouldn't change course just because one medium said it. Go find a local healing group and see if it lights your fire 🙂
