Just a note to say that I signed up a couple of weeks ago for the Divine Life Society's 'Daily Reading'. I didn't expect a great deal as I've signed up for a couple of other 'Thought for the day' kind of things and they quickly get lukewarm and not worth the bother. The DLS daily reading, if you've a deep spiritual inclination, is very superior, I've found. They're hard to ignore, and you don't really want to forget them through the day or even the days to follow. Impressed!

They are a bit Hindu-oriented but should work well enough for most people.

You can sign up from [link= http://www.sivanandaonline.org ]www.sivanandaonline.org[/link]

Let me hone that URL down a bit and be specific. At [link= http://sivanandaonline.org/memberarea/ ]http://sivanandaonline.org/memberarea/[/link]you become a 'member' and then just request the Daily Reading.

RE: DLS Daily Reading

Thanks for posting, V. I just had a quick look and the page to which you linked gives a choice of Previous Site/New Site. Both seem to have the same message for today.

Which would you recommend we should go for, assuming you've spent longer there than I have?

EDIT: Just seen YOUR edit! 😀 Does that answer my question?

Yes. ;)I didn't mean to read it on the site. At my later link you can subscribe and get it by email. (Otherwise, let's face it, few of us are really going to go and read daily. I find that getting it as an email works well.) These are profound messages, I'd say.

Mind you, typical isn't it? ;)I'd written, as till then I'd found it true:

They are a bit Hindu-oriented but should work well enough for most people.

The very next daily reading was utterly steeped in Sanscrit terminology (though in brackets each word was translated) and I think those not used to Hinduism would have found it hard going ... :eek:In my experience so far, most aren't like that though.

Wow excellent Venetian, looks cool im gonna sign up. Hey I practice Sivananda Yoga, good stuff, I like it. I also love ancient hindu stuff. Sanskrit is cool, this stuff was written so long ago, yet is so intelligent. Incredible...

Cody.

Yes, it's been a while now since I first posted this. Their daily readings are consistently great for the spiritual path, I find. I've only time for one! - so I've cancelled another I used to get (possibly found through HP?).
