Let Cougar's fierce gaze remind you of the power of leadership & survival, & teach these skills to the young ones. Call on its strength for the qualities that you need, & to reveiw your personal beliefs about yourself. Develop your leadership qualities of truthfulness, & making appropriate use of power & energy. You might need to make a great leap into something new.

Cougar warns that you may be overprotective of your personal viewpoint, which could bring you into a major conflict, it could also remind you of your lack of commitment to the young. It may be that you have become a bully: don't forget that true power can be gentle.

In what physical condition are you? A good leader & a powerful hunter needs to be in good shape. Eat a nutritious diet, exercise to restore your flexibiity & strength, hone your stalking skills, & be aware of what is in your environment.

Above all, if Cougar has come into your life it is to teach you about power. Once you understand that power in not used to oppress or to coerce others but for self empowerment, then you can use Cougar energy to "chew up" your failings & weaknesses. Remember, a true leader has mastery over himself, & his thoughts & emotions

I am also very intriqued in how others work with their animals.

Well Maria...I am still learning, I have a Wolf, a Jaguar and a Black Panther, the Wolf and the Jaguar are always with me when I am working with Horses...the Black Panther is a new guide to me and between us we are still testing the waters ... so to speak.

I have much to learn about & from my animal guides...but I just love them being in my presence.

Thanks for the words, they do make sense in what I am starting to do - I have always wanted to work with children but not sure what to do I will have to think on that.

I am also starting to get back into shape after trouble with my back which has really prevented me from doing alot, but I am having Rehab on it and it is working. I would also love to become a manager but am having trouble in that so that maybe whay cougar has come, to ensure that I work towards that - although I will ask next time she is around.

Aren't wolves great, mine is around me a lot especially when I am needing a bit of protection, he also comes to visit just for the company I think as he is around now sleeping on the floor in front of me. He also travels with me in the car and really loves it. I love hi m to bits and would hate to have him leave - he has been with me too long.

I am really looking forward to working with blue (Cougars name) and she is apparently very eager to work with me so heres to the special bonds we share with Animal guides.

I'm new on here - and not an expert on shamanism by any stretch of the imagination 🙂

I did an intro course with Jane Shutt (which was fantastic!) but one of the things she did say was don't go off and look up what your animal means in a book, your power animal is there because it is right for you, and what it means to one person can be very different to another.

I understand that as you should ask your animal why they are here to help and what they want you to do.

I also have a tree that I can go into and become part of and get wisdom and knowledge from which is great. The deaper I go into this the more wonderful it gets. I am undertaking a course soon to get my certificate so I can start practicing what I have been doing for years and really looking forward to it.

P.S: Have just ordered two new books from amazon and will be looking forward to reading them!!! One is about integrating shamanism into the modern world which is a fantastic thought and the other is a book written quite a few years ago abdout hullucinations and interpretation so I will let you know what these are like.

Hi Apache, yes it best to feel the animal for yourself but with some people it nice to have abit of guidence on the power that the animal carrys but as you said you would know the differants with the animals as you worked with him and yes it would be right for you to feel that energy.
Just my opinion.

Sorry its taken me a while to get back the books are

Shamanism, Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy

and

"Healing Thoughts: Applying Therepeutic Shamanism in Your Daily Life"

The first one is quite old and I am really looking forward to seeing what it says, the 2nd one is the one about the modern day stuff. I will let you know what they are like when they come. The Archaic Techniques of Ectasy is coming from america so that will be a while .
