Hiya all,
Don't often come into this forum (no reason really!) and I was wondering whether any seasoned shamanism forum people might be able to point me in the right direction?
I've recently become increasingly interested in nature and nature based wisdom, and got really stuck into a book on trees and their place in native spirituality. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good reading material or resources on this kind of topic, especially British shamanism? Websites would also be appreciated if they are comprehensive and easy on the eye;)
Thanks,
Az x

RE: Where to start with British shamanism & nature wisdom?
Sacred Celtic Places - Nigel Penick
Women who ran with the wolves - Pinkola Ertes..(forgot the whole name, it is a jungian anlysis of great folk tales - e.g: Blue beard - and their meaning for every wild (natural) woman)
The Body of the Goddess - Rachel Pollack (burial mounds, caves, etc..)
When Women were Drummers - Layne Redmond (by drummer-writer-yoga expert. A mind-blowing book)
The Language of the Goddess- Marija Gimbutas (THE bible)
Warrior women - Jane Davis-Kindall (the link found at last between the Amazonian mythand the Mongolian warrior-priestresses women...you are in for a shock!)
(I am reading now:) Shamans, housewives and other restless spirits (in Korea) by Laurell Kendall ( fascinating but rather for the anthropologist than general readers. at times boring..
Civilization and Wilderness...by a writer I cannot remember the name of! (Dutch-sounding name). Great study of human's spiritual evolution from prehistory through our times.
John Muir - the founder of the first ever national parks (in the US). He was Scottish, a nature lover, scientist...I remember reading that he went exploring (in the 19th century) Alaska and after days of walking he dropped on his knees, crying, with his hands joined, hypnotised, as he was saying "I am in love"...he had founda flower!
He wrote a few books.
John blackmore: photographer, his comments on his landscape photography are marvellous.
Well, this is my reading golden mine....it is biased of course.

RE: Where to start with British shamanism & nature wisdom?
I came across this website a few days ago.
I like this little article
[link= http://www.shamanscave.com/beginning_practices/healing/anger_rock_preparation_and_use ]http://www.shamanscave.com/beginning_practices/healing/anger_rock_preparation_and_use[/link]
lots more there.
I picked up thesebooks from 'charity' shops, and 'new age' shops
cheaper than new, and there are some bargains to be had - just look.
I got;
"Modern Shamanic Living" by Evelyn C. Rysdyk,
"Shamanism" by Will Adcock,
"Plant Spirit Medicine" by Eliot Cowan and
"The Way of the Shaman" by Michael Harner
for a couple of quid each.

Hello I have been studying shaminizim for some years that tells the ways to bring about the old with the new this is a time element that comes through the process of the breathing method to creative instincts this is a spiritual value of the instructions of the old propesys that come when you are able to feel the feathers of the whisking from the shamistic form of insights this time frame come
Looking at the beauty of the majic of the Indian Philosophies is of great importance and as we go forward we will look at the way the Healer Within ,
This is a Messagenger Lesson that Spirit Guides can bring through the Earths Essences...I am told by the spiritual forces of the old shamic law we see that the mixing together of the way the indians looked at things was very unique and not much difference of todays healers bringing about a change in your surroundings is important and using the tools as the shamans did can help to acheive a settling of your views as we look I will look to the Earth as there are trails that are near and you are given qualities of majical tools that will bring about a upliftment in your atmosphere
using the brightness of a flower or a flickering of a candle can help you to balance the ways that can bring about the rituals that are needed as this is showing you that we have resources available to help in our quest... This I am told by the old philopshophies that you can bring about rain to the wisdom of the story of the indian ways of the ethics of the waves of the spirit there are some that may feel this is not true but others that feel that we can remember the suffering of the ways of th working together with the arts of the newness of earth essences....May the Great White Spirit bring about light to you works.....Gypsee
