Hi.
I'm from Dublin, Ireland and I want to get a drum for journeying. I have my eye on a remo buffalo skin drum, but its in the USA and I will have to pay twice as much as the cost of the drum to ship it here! I will be in London next Monday for a business trip and have the opportunity to go to a shop to buy one - does anyone know a shop in the city centre of London where I could go to buy a drum? I will be at Paddington and will only have about an hour, so I want to go straight there and back again!
thanks hope you guys can help!

RE: Where can I buy a Shamans drum in London?
hi
see if 'hobgoblins' off oxford st have one
if they do it is the no 23 bus or a cab of course
you can get the number from directory enquiries or they may have a website
or go to 'rainman' in kentish town, again, check if there is a website....that will take longer to get to by cab

Thanks Tigress, I found the hobgoblin website and I've sent them an email enquiry!
Hopefully they will be able to help me out.
Namaste!

i used to make deerskin ones to order.....pricey tho as it takes a good week, but miles better than any of the foriegn imports ive heard....including remo.
that said its considered accepted practice that 'proper' shamans make their own tools and a 'shamans drum' can never be bought for no true shaman would ever sell it and when they died it was buried with them.

hi, yes i recognised that not everybody has the ness time or skills to make one from scratch... or the desire for a mass produced drum, which is why i provided the service ,i have some frames but no skins so i will have to contact my supplyier as its been quite a while and not sure what they charge now and will PM you in due course......ive got some example pics of my work somewhere....i'll see if i can dig them out for you to look at.

Try Sacred Hoop magazine usually plenty of drum making workshops advertised there. Drum making is not so hard if you have someone to show you how.
