RE: Tree wisdom?
Hi Maria
I have found some info on a silver Fir which I am sure is similar properties to a normandy - I am being told anyway that they both relate so here goes:
It helps to clarify vision, and to see the way forward. It is the energy of the light at the end of the tunnel, and as it is the energy of farsight and foresight it allows us to look ahead to things like our life purpose, our destiny and our life pathand allows us to imtegrate ourselves to this purpose.
It helps to break down barriers to the lessons learnt in this or previous lives, and increases our awareness of and connection with celtic wisdom and if applicable our celtic heritage. By accessing this wisdom we can use it to help us solve problems in our lives and learn from our past mistakes without dwelling too much on them.
Hope this makes a bit of sense, if not I will keep looking.
With love

RE: Tree wisdom?
Makes a lot of sense hun, thank you,
I have also been told to soak them in oils ?? Lavendar & rosemary?? not sure yet But other than that and letting the needles fall off naturally. Alao removiny any noduals that might stick out to leave the actuall wood as natural as poss.. so no bark stripping., Got olive oil stuck in my mind too, maybe this is more nutrall and it is what i should use just for flexability and suppelety of the wand. I know that Rose quartz & amythest are involved here & yes I can take the Celtic connection i'm half Irish Slso ive been getting lots og Greens & golds in my vision too.
Thanks M you're a star

RE: Tree wisdom?
HI Paul
Loved the website, has inspired me to have a go at wand making myself, and with all this windy weather there will be loads of trees having cranches blown off, will start in the garden with my Birch and chestnut! lol. I am also looking at making some rattles as well but just have to find the rawhide!
Thanks for your comments about the tree, I am doing a celtic reiki course which explains what the trees mean!
With love

RE: Tree wisdom?
Hi M,
A good and economical source for rawhide to make a rattle is a rawhide dog chew, you know the large ones with the knots on the end. I usually soak over night in water, then cut to shape.
Have you made one before ? - if not please let me know.
I bet the wands will be lovely.

RE: Tree wisdom?
Hi Paul
I haven't made a rattle before, but thought I would give it a go, I have some cystal and gem chips coming soon so I thought that it woul be a good idea to have a go. Wasn't sure about the dog chews with knots as how do you get them unrapped etc! At Seapets (near me) they have rolled up ones with no knots so I thought I would have a go with them! have to get some twine to and some sand but I am really looking forward to giving it a go anyway! Any help and advice woul be good tho!
The wands, I collected to twigs today, they are thin and maybe a bit long but as I am only practicing I am sure they will do just great! They were laying there all ready for me and this one stick was the only one off the chestnut so I know I should be doing it. Also beside the Birch twig was a lovely wood pigeon feather so felt blessed.

RE: Tree wisdom?
I find that sharp sand is better and if you haven't any sinew for stitching another strong thread of all things is dental floss. I'll try and find further details B4 you start, give me a couple of days.
RE: Tree wisdom?
Ive not made one b4 but feel a strong urge.i'm drawn to birch also 'M' and mother in law has one in her garden too;)
i wasn't able to get onto that web page paul but i'll keep on trying. thx
