hi all, wonder if anyone can help...
last night someone connected with my native american guide and said that he brought me a totem pole with a bird's head and beak at the top, and also flapping wings.
i have done some searches on the net but am not sure where to look... does anyone know what significance this may have?
i have always associated my guide with white feathers and because i don't know his name, this is sometimes what i call him. it would be really nice to learn more about him. any info would be much appreciated.
thank you in advance
love and peace

RE: totem poles
Hi Feathers,
If memory serves me... totem poles were placed outside the lodges of the North-west Indian tribes to signify clan affiliations, their spiritual connections and strength and as prayers to Great Mystery.
The bird could be an Eagle or a Thunderbird (although I'm not sure if thunderbirds are only linked to the Plains tribes or Navajo...gets muddled in my tiny brain...) Anyway, Eagle is a direct link to spirit, the bird who flies closest to Great Mystery and carries us high above ordinary concerns. You've probably heard of White Eagle, who was channelled through a British medium some years ago. White feathers can often be linked - in our Western understanding - to a higher teacher/guide.
Thunderbird is the bringer of the thunder and lightning, of the creative spark which earths in the ground and creates life, so it can signify wild, creative energy and potential.
Of course, the bird could be something totally different, which is where you'll have to rely on your guide for further insight, unless you feel drawn to a particular bird already.
Hope that helps a little.
