Jaybird recently referred to The Seer,

It is one of the cards in a pack I have and I am fascinated by it.

I wonder how people experience 'The Seer' from a shamanic persepctive?

When are the times you experience yourself a the Seer?

hi tigress

Iam new to shamamism and don,t consider myself anywhere near being one i have not got the amount of knowledge to have gathered anywhere near the wisdom if that is correct.
My meaning to you as a seer as i understood was that you had the foresight to realise that what was going on was not in the best interests of the forum and its members and had the intuition naturaly to realise this.

Yes.....is the simple answer to this question.

Most people have the ability to see the future and we see this performed every day in one way or another. Parents teach their children how to be Seers just by predicting what will happen to them if they run out into the road........or climbs a tree.......or go too close to the waters edge, but I'm not sure that it is always used in the right way, because not all of us realise that we have this ability....and of course, If we create fear in our childrens minds when they are young, it can cause many problems as they get older. So my advice to anyone wanting to travel this path is.......caution

After many years of living on the road and being homeless you acquire a certain ability to read people....their facial expressions...their body language, their compassion and empathy.....their hostility and aggression. All these things make up our personality which can be read if you fine tune your senses...IMO

One example I can give from my own experiences is this;

After many years on the road, I decided to change my ways and seek help in a hostel. After a couple of weeks of living out of my comfort zone, amongst all of these thugs and junkies, I finally started to feel a little more relaxed. Our beds were in a dormitory with two rows of beds..one on each side of the room. All the blokes on our side of the room seemed a decent bunch ...on the other side of the room were a couple of smack heads who were wanted by the police, but still managed to get a bed . I knew they were dangerous and treated them with caution because of their aggression towards the other residents....Because of their body language and demenour I decided it was to dengerous to sleep in the dormitory the next night, and opted to sleep in the graveyard opposite the hostel.....I was woken by police sirens early in the morning.......the two junkies had attacked the people sleeping both sides of my bed, and had killed one of them.
I went back to the graveyard a little later and said a prayer for the chaps that were hurt and the guy that had been killed and gave thanks for just being alive...

Of course, being a Seer works on different levels and you do have to practice...........IMO

it is a great asset to be so perceptive.

I have worked in a day centre and hostels in the past , assisting street homeless people into a new life if that was what they wanted.

many were very perceptive too and I think that stress itself can sometimes make one more sensitive and then more perceptive .

Hi Tigress...

They do say that you need to go to 'The Edge' to gain that sort of insight....

Near Death Experiences ...sometimes give the recovering patients this certain ability, whether it is deemed a psychic ability or spiritual is based on the trauma these people suffer and the way they percieve them

Some are born with these powers...and some gain them through prayer and belief.....also meditation is a way in to these other realms.

The example I gave was one of many that I experienced over the years, and of course...still experience them.

I must admit, whilst I was on the road...I met many fellow travellers that had experiences the same as my own.

well, being on the road is outside many social constructs, a disconnect from the programming /mass gridwork...so helps to retain any inherent capacity to walk between the worlds?

I think it is a question of fear......once we lose the fear, whether it be born of dying, or loneliness...or some other barrier that holds us back. We can then move forward on our spiritual path......Freedom....from the constraints of everyday living.

I think it's a question of finding happiness in every situation...not misery...not suffering, but joy. To see the beautiful shining light beyond the clouds. To give our trust and have courage in every test that life throws at us.

every cloud has a golden lining.....IMO
