I have just started Shamanic Drumming. I have always been interested in drumming since a child. Having now become a pensioner, I am at last able to make my dream come true. I can only say 'wow' for what it is doing for mke. I suffer bouts of severe depression and find that the drumming brings me into equilibrium. Not only that, I am able to reach levels in the meditative state that i have never reached before.
I would love to hear from others that are following this path.

Hello Gilly,

I am so glad that the drumming is making you feel better, I can't compare notes quite yet although I would love to in future as I am embarking on a course in Shamanic medicine in London at the end of November.
I love to hear stories like yours where people grasp the nettle and help themselves well done.

Love

Rebecca

Hi Gill,
You make it sound like a really lovely experience. I have done Shamanic journeying with someone drumming and loved the sound. I have also signed up for a workshop for Reiki Drumming later in the year & I can't wait now having read your post 🙂

Blessings

Helen

I began drumming some years back and found that the best way is to let the drum teach you. Learn to hear its voice, go with it's rhythms, not yours. Build a relationship so that you know your drum friend.

Recently, I have begun a new experience through drum healing... it's amazing. 🙂

I am looking forward to your posts and progress. Be interesting to see the difference with your experience and Meurighj Reiki drumming.

Yes, have learned to go with the drum (and my guides) - I well realise that its the drum, not me, that dictates its rythm and sound and speed. Its never the same twice. I too find the experience of healing with the drum just awesome.

They say that the beat of the drum is the beat of our Earth Mother - no surprise that it is extremely healing.

Fantastic:)....i am however sorry to hear you had to wait until you became a pensioner to live your dream...thats far too long IMO,
i make and have used drums for years but left them for a while but having took part in a drum workshop last weekend realised how much benefit ive been missing plus also learnt a few new techniques.....just when i thought i had it all nailed:D
