I know nothing about shamanism, and therefore may well be wrong, but from the names you mention above would hazard a guess that the power animal empowers and protects, working more with the light, whilst the shadow animal does the opposite, ie represents your dark side.

Oh i now have another question lol,:D
When we are shown an animal several times in dreams and the first time i saw her i was scared lol, a while back now, but just recently this animal walked beside me and i felt i had known her a long time and was not afraid of her any more, looking at the link above how do i know which Totem she comes under ~ ie, clan, power, shadow, messenger, lesson, life mission totem etc, 😮

Greta Sight, a lot to take in and as regards to your question, you will be the only one who knows what place she holds in your journey. The best way to find out is to ask her when you next meet. THere will always be animals that come in and out (and guides) but if you think right back to when young and the animals you were most drawn to, if it hasn't faded as such I feel that could be your life teacher or guide.

Thanks Maria, Yes i have allways had a love of Panthers, allways spotted brown though, never thought of black ones much allthough they are spotted also, 😉 but i have seen black ones in dreams several times, the first time there were lots of them surrounding the house i was in that had many windows, and i was like shouting at everyone, " keep those doors shut" but this latest one i was comfortable with her beside me.

Have you thought that the spotted panther you are drawn to might be a black jaguar - my pal has a totem animal who is a black jaguar, but only found that one even existed when she had trawled the internet to try to identify it, looking for large black cats that had spots in a particular region and found that it wasn't a panther that she had after all.

Hi Mab, thanks hun, all i know is that the animal that visited me was a huge black cat 😉 and she was so beautifull, she was walking beside me and i was wearing a long dress, as if in another time.
