Greetings to all!
I find it a bit anoying that people are taking them for the wrong reason. Some are going clubing with them, some take them for a laugh and worst still, some watch TV on them!
It sadens me to hear people abusing such a powerful tool given to us by mother nature.
And it anoys me even more to see them being sold everywhere without providing any kind of instructions and guidelines, or safety warnings.
Mushrooms are NOT for fun or to stay indoors with, they are a tool for connecting us directly with nature. i:e for our eyes to open up to the plant spirits, to the splendor of its eco system, and to natures super inteligent manifestation.
it is on these journeys that I'm reminded that nature does NOT need us! it never did, or ever will. Instead it is US who need and are dependent on it.
Oh before I forget, I promissed a tree spirit that I will constantly remind humans the message it gave me on one journey.
"Let it be known that we are here to clean your air and to provide you with oxygen, we have done so long before you were here and will probably do so long after you have gone. but recently we have been absorbing much polution, and it is important you humans know that for every tree burnt, many years of polution is re-released into the atmosthere and there are less of us to cope".
This message is one I will never forget.
May the breath of mother nature fill your soul with healthy ingredients.

RE: sacred mushrooms
mushroom are natures hormonal communication network and can allow connection with higher levels, they can also be great fun and a way of accessing innerjoy.
I do think is bad that people without fully developed sense of self(under 25) are taking psycadelic drugs so randomly (skunk included) and as a society we may pay the price for this with thier mental health as they get older:(
its a shame mushrooms are so easily available without the correct guidance, though most of the guys selling I have met are more than willing to spend time talking you through how much aND HOW TO take shrooms.
anything that allows people to see through the veil of myia should be respected but also enjoyed.

With all due respect, I think it is wrong to assume that people under 25 do not have a fully developed sense of self. I conciously began my spiritual journey when I was 15, and I have met many adults who say "I wish I had've discovered myself when I was your age. I was 40/50/60 before I realised who I was". I think that in some ways you are always developing and the nature of self development is such that we are always discovering new things about ourselves.
IMHO I really don't think age always has any particular relevance to how developed your sense of self is. Some people are born into the world knowing who they are and some people die having never known.:D

Absolutely agree with you, Azalia 🙂 People develop at the right time for them ... which may have been decided (if you subscribe to the idea) before incarnation.
Generally speaking, people do seem to be developing at a much younger age these days, IME. Apologies to others if going [sm=offtopic.gif] ... I cannot comment on sacred mushrooms, since I have no experience of them.

You don't miss anything special Laura...
I would not recommend the use of sacred mushrooms even under supervision of people who think they are knowledgeable about them...
And people who use it for fun is irresponsible and foolish...

And the reason you know this is ...? 😉
Otherwise, and in all seriousness, 😮 what seems to me in the absence of first hand knowledge, but as a concept, to be wise advice. 🙂

But.....why can something not hold many different aspects? To yourself, mushrooms are what you mentioned above; a tool, to others they are an ingredient, to some they are a part of a landscape painted in watercolors, and to many others, they are a way to open doors. Where those doors might open too is not for anyone to say. How can we assume we are open minded in spirituality, yet we close the doors to other peoples ways so readily? If'n I consume mushrooms, my path goes where it will go, and most of the time I don't control what it shows me, in fact, I wish I never saw some things that I did........but it is my spirituality, my ways, do you see? Even if I am indoors staring at a TV screen, or smelling of the earth, it matters not, I still learn in my own ways, and judging me on it only turns me away, and all our similarities shall remain unnoticed.
RE: sacred mushrooms
I will not deny people MATURE at different ages, but the brain does not finish developing untill around 25, so surely adding psycadelic substances before this age will affect development.
I work with drug users and find many have arrested development emotionally (sorry for the generalisation) and that psycadelics can cause this.
I am not saying some use of drugs during the process of initiation to adulthood is bad per-se and indeed many cultures mark the acceptance of adult responsibility with ritual's sometimes using drugs, just that over use espically daily or dependant use is very very bad for the developing mind.
being an old soul and intelligence are seperate things to emotional development which can only come with the perspective of age, which is why healthy people enjoy life more nad more and more as they age. 😀 no slight on the young;)
RE: sacred mushrooms
Well said.....
Any thing in excess can be difficult to handle, even forum posting! [sm=scratchchin.gif]
Drugs did emotionally retard me to some extent, there is no doubt, and it took awhile for me to come to terms with that. In the same instance though, I also learned many things that I hold dear, both positive and negative, and due to that I have no regrets in my life (as of yet).
It is an interesting and trecherous path to walk in regards to the differences between popular drug use and spiritual drug use, it is a path that must be walked carefully and free from hypocirtical grandure. Both may be considered escapes, both are mind altering, and to some extent even the drugs are identical. So what is it that truly seperates this....any ideas?
There is no good evidence that psychedelics arrest development.
