Hi all,
Had a weird experience today and would like other's views or advice on it.
Firstly, I was moving a shed and a rat ran out from underneath it into a little brook, no-one else with me saw it, just me...what is weird about that...I haven't seen one for years, but there is more to come!
Then, I was driving along a country lane and another rat ran out over my path, in exactly the same way as the first, same angle, direction (left to right) and speed. Both my wife and myself saw this one! I thought it was amazing as I haven't seen a rat for years and this was two in one day.
Then....I said to my wife 'if I see another one, that is it, I am getting out and walking' and I saw another one!! However, my wife didn't!!
This was just amazing....but a little worrying......text both the kids...just to make sure they were OK...and drove with just a tad more precaution than usual........just then a bird... (Blackbird ).....flew directly towards..... ME....
It was at driver level, and flew from a distance of five hundred yards....at speed. How it missed me I don;t know, I remember ducking...
Just thought I'd share and see what ideas you have on this event. I do believe it was a sign

i have a few thoughts on you wierd day , bear with me i;'ll explain
A rat, or rats, points up the fact that someone is very jealous of you and/or your accomplishments and will work against you in any way possible, it is a warning to be on the alert for enemy attack, (the backbiting kind). If you see a white rat it means the same but you will have help from unknown forces.
also the Blackbird , is a symbol of that it will soon pass , and the childish pettyness of the rat will soon pass and things will once again be cmfortable
just carry on the way your going , but with some precautions , and things will be soon be alright again , maybe some extre protection round you and loves one could never hurt .
but not to worry , as worry can make things a lot worse off than you want them to be
Hope this has been of some help 🙂
Bright blessings
Kat 🙂
Ah, yes....this makes sense, I have a situation coming up in which this behavior might arise. Thanks for pointing this angle out Kat.

are you tied into something you want to/need to break from.......rats gnaw through thick heavy rope? Nothing coming to me about the blackbird>
Hiya oakapple,
I have this info taken from Animal Speak - Ted Andrews/
Rat...Success, Restlessness and Shrewdness.. some of the key points
"The rat has succeeded in proliferating in spite of the efforts of humanity.. has a drive for success. rats are highly social and co-operate in survival efforts. If a rat has shown up as a totem you may find yourself getting more restless. It may indicate a time of getting more shrewd with your dealings. Are you not handling the pests in your life properly? Do you need to be more adaptable? It may even reflect a time to more aggresively pursue endeavors for success. The behaviour of the rat when you see it will help you determine the kind of enrgy it specifically brings to you" page 308/9.
Blackbird...Understanding the Energies of Mother Nature
"You will be open to new surprises and to a new understanding of the forces of Nature as they begin to migrate into your life" page 120.
This may help you to intuit your own answers?
Hi fleur,
It's strange, when you try to interprete your own dreams...it always seems so distorted....when someone else interperetes, it seems so obvious...
Thanks fleur, your advice will be taken...I'll also meditate on the Rat and explore the possibility of him being a totem....I certainly connect with him.

Thanks for that fleur,.....blackbird already accompanies me....we have been friends for some time.....as do many birds!

Some more info on the rat:
The Rat
Rats would probably not be so successful if it weren't for humans. Our living habits have provided them with homes and food and we have eliminated many of their predators. Because of this rats hold important teachings about waste, over consumption and survival for those who have this totem.
Rats can eat a quarter to a third of their body weight a day. They gnaw on things to keep their teeth, which are always growing, short and sharp. Pack Rats are famous for collecting things. They have been known to strip a sealed cabin in the woods of everything that they could carry. One species is called the Trade Rat because it leaves a stone in the place of what it takes.
Black Rats carried the fleas that led to the Black Plague. In Norway some years ago, hungry Rats infested a bird sanctuary and ate, among other things the birds. They even managed to grab seagulls and hold them down while killing them.
Those with this totem are survivors. Their tendency is to hoard what they have because they fear that they don't have enough. This fear prompts them to acquire large quantities of things and fight aggressively to maintain what they have acquired. Rat medicine people are not selfish but they can appear that way to those who do not know them well. Holding onto everything and being the pack rat is their way of feeling secure in an insecure world.
Fortunately rats adapt well to environmental changes and can survive on just about anything. They hold the teachings of resourcefulness. Their fear of not being provided for can be healed by participating in supportive group activities, meditation and prayer.
The other side of Rat is that it reflects back to us our own human capacity for greed, taking so much that others needs are denied. They will sometimes overeat and throw up rather than let food go by. They will dispossess other small animals of their homes if they can, wanting no competition for food. They truly personify humankind's imperialistic drives, which are making life on the planet more and more tenuous. If Rat has come to you, look at ways you may be participating in wasteful consumption or fear based emotions and begin to change your habits appropriately.
hi oakapple, also another little note on Rat experience three people need healing around you or they will soon appear in your life, first person, has major stress because they want to move home and live abroad, second person has no direction in life and confuse as where to aim their goals.
Third person has yet to walk into yourlife.
blackbird is the messager from spirit.
hope it helps too.

Grasshoppers only leap forward never backwards so how about an unexpected leap into something, and they have a distinctive voice.....ringing any bells?
Hi Fleur
Thanks for your reply. I certainly want to move forward, but have been "stuck" for a while now. Perhaps you're right that it's a sign that things are about to start moving again.
