Hi Rosi,
Thank you for your welcome. The Thunder Warriors are a group of people who help people less fortunate than ourselves. A matter of giving them a helping hand not a hand out. They also run workshops and sometimes arrange trips to the US tribal grounds. The web site is

Shamanism takes a lot of patience and self discipline but also has many rewards. I do not have enough time at this moment to tell you more about, but I shall get back to you re both topics..

Meanwhile,

Bright Blessings,

Hi Paul,

love the name by the way! I have been a shaman for years now and it is a long and lonely road to follow and does take loads of self patience and internal work, but I love it and am starting to develop more connection with it. I would be really interested in hearing about what The Thunder Warriors do and will look at the website when I have more time!

Welcome to the forum and I hope that you will share all you r work with us!

With love

Maria

Hi Folks,
Thank you all for your kind welcome and comments of which I will be in touch.

At the moment I am just taking some time out as my mother passed away on Feb 4th, and it was nice to log onto the forum and touch base and begin to get myself back on track.

Love and Bright Blessings to all,

Hi Maria,

I am trying to catch up with past messages as my mother passed away in February , I hadn't been able to concentrate on writing. I would like to hear also about your experiences and where did you learn about shamanism? I have sent a message to Apache which outlines how I came into shamanism.

I think it should be open for all to read. I am new to this forum so I have got to learn whats, what.

Hope all is well with you,

Paul Big Bear

Hi Stormdeva,
another way to ground yourself is to jump up and down on the spot a couple of times, that works quite well.

Well I am glad you got back.

Many Blessings,

RE: New to forum

Hi Wendy, I have been a spiritual healer for many years, and always looking for something that would benefit my clients I became interested in Native American Spirituality which lead me to learn about shamanism. The Native American Teachings and the Shamanic teachings sang to my soul, it was like receiving information that I already knew. As I was offered books to read I was saying to myself I am already doing this or I already know this. I did a two year correspodence course with Ravenlodge back in the mid 90's . Wishing to expand my knowledge, one Thursday night I prayed, I wanted to do my shamanic work properly, so I prayed "Please send me a teacher"
On Friday morning I switched on my computer and the first unsolicted message read
"Native American wishing to teach in the U.K" I decided to reply, as I was typing the reply a great spiritual feeling coursed through my body and I knew my decision was right.

Tony Dreamwalker came accross and taught me what he knew, I went accross to the USA and attended a POW - WOW . I was honoured by being made a Sacred Pipe Carrier, and the Chief blessed the pipe.

Shamanism is not a religion, it is a way of life it opens up your heart, your mind and your spirit. You feel the connection with all about you and the understanding of why are we here
begins to make sense.

I still have much to learn and the journey is more like an adventure with it's up's and down's
and moments of pure joy.

Shamanism has taught me much, how did I get into shamanism more like how did shamanism get into me <smile>

I hope your journey continues to astound you,

Many Bright Blessings,

Paul Big Bear

RE: New to forum

Hi Paul, thanks for shareing...I can see you are very intune to your guidance.Over the years iv'e felt a very close connection with all life, everywhere i go im feel intune to everthing around me. Met a few Native American's and they have been very helpfull. My friend Brenda Alpine run the Lakota Aid charity and she is an amazing lady, she been helping the Lakota people with fuel and mobile homes to live in.....I was shock to know how some still live and so many die at such young age. One day i hope to go to Pine Rigde Reservation.
I expect you have met....Wa-Na-Nee-Che....Spiritual Adviser, he lives in Leicester, holds Mother Earth Lodges in East Sussex, he a lovely man. Sing's the healing prayer......and his voise just vibrates through your whole body. I agree that shamanism is a way of life. What a honour to be made Sacred Pipe Carrier.

RE: New to forum

Hi Wendy Lightwinds,
I have attended a sweat Lodge with Wan Na Ne Chee which I enjoyed very much. I also attended a sweat lodge with Ed McGaa , Eagle Man at Stanstead College. U.K
There are also no go tribal areas in the USA and some experiences can be very unpleasant. Always be aware of where you are allowed to go as most times it is by invitation. Having said that I have attended a few POW WOWS and had some memorable times.

A group of my friends are going to Pine Ridge this year, unfortunately I am not able to go due to other committments , but I hope I get another opportunity.

I think it may be a good idea, that if people have any questions that could email me, rather than write of my experiences, what do you think ?

Bright Blessings,
Paul Big Bear

RE: New to forum

Hi Paul, If i did go to US it would be by invitation and only with someone who knows the area's.I got some nice picture of Brenda vistet from her web page and you can adopt a family or just write. My friend write to Joe American Horse. I know in my Heart that i will go, as i have someone to meet.
Im shore if anyone had a question about shamanism they will ask or PM, or email you.
But some might put a question up on this forum for you.
You dont have to tell all your experience on here...it's up to you how you share your wisdom...but just injoy..... it's a lovey family feeling here on HP.
Hope you stay for a while

Thank you Stormdeva,

I will do my best to answer any questions raised on the forum pages and also share my experiences as and when I am able.

It is a very interesting topic and it is a varied and wonderful path to follow.
It is also intersting to learn about the different types of shamanism of differnt cultures and see how they all follow a similar thread.

Spread your wings and fly,

Many Bright Blessings,
Paul Big Bear

Hi Paul Medicine Owl,
My condolences to you also. Thank you for the warm welcome. They are hoping to update the "Thunder Warrior" site again soon.

There is a POW WOW coming up in July at the Bison Farm, West Knoyle in Wiltshire, we usually have a fun time. They actually breed real Bison there and to watch the silhouette of the herd as they slowly move over the rolling hills at sunset is surreal. Have you ever been?

Look forward with exchanging experiences with you,

Many Bright Blessings,
