Hi,
Could anyone help me, a friend of mine asked me what the meaning behind seeing a Deer in her back garden is she said there are no woodland or hedgerows around only flat fen area, she wondered if it was a premonition.

Any thoughts please,

LunaFairie xx

Deer
ie. stag/elk can be for stamina.....
roe type deer can be for love or gentleness .....

so either she needs stamina for something for "the long run" or love is coming to her garden.

Today as I meditated in the woods, trying to connect to a certain tree,
( Broom ), waiting for the right moment to collect an ogham...I was visited by two roe Deer. These Deer reminded me of the humble spirit of these soft and gentle creatures.

Deer spirit is the humilty to not be seen or known, which is of great personal value when it comes from a place of inner strength. It watches from hidden places and is quietly aware. Not needing to speak of it's knowledge....It has a gente nobility that brings peace to it's environment.

With Deer you can walk into the deep quiet forest of yourself and seek the sweet, soft, simple part of your nature.

Of course it is that time of year when the deer are a little more "brave" because it's rutting season. We've seen some beautiful stags around in the past week. 😉

To me deer signify gentleness and remind us to be gentle with ourselves.

The deer is my main Animal Totem, when it is near i feel the tingling of the antlers on my forehead. I think your explanations are excellent...it only appears when i need to focus on my inner strength. Naturally i am a very jumpy person always looking in from a far and the deer teaches me to love myself and to never follow the crowd. Maybe the deer appeared to pass on a similar message to your friend.

deer medicine (mythology)

legend says that the great spirit was calling deer to come to a sacred place but the path was blocked by a demon that was trying to stop all walks from feeling the great spirit.fawn was not frightened and asked to pass. he tried to scare her but was astounded by her compassion and love that was so visible it melted the demons heart.to me deer medicine is to find gentleness of spirit and stop pushing people to change.apply this to your present situation and you will be guided by the great spirit.:)

A deer may be telling you that you should see beyond the surface and give your unconditional love regardless of the shell that someone is trying to hide behind. Only with your unconditional love you can break the shell and free the person hiding behind it.

what a beautiful experience, to have a deer come into a garden like that. And some of the replies above have inspiring images to understand what it might mean. I am following an English Shamanism path (inspired by the book The Way of Wyrd by Brian Bates, and his follow-up one about English nature-magic called The Real Middle-Earth). He teaches Shamanic Consciousness at the University of Sussex and is also a professor of psychology, and says the shamanic way of tribal people he works with is to find within your own heart what the symbolism of the animal is for you, when something like this happens. He uses an animal journal for each person which brings to consciousness all of your references, experiences, feelings, thoughts, poetry etc about deer and the answer will reveal itself. Good luck with it.

Some native americans believe the deer is a sign of pure love.
Does your friend live near a train track. Deer use them to get about at night.
Either way your friend is incredibly fortunate.
Iam so jealous

My daughter is a runner and uses a spiritual deer for encouragement. My wife sees the deer often and it has a sense of humour. At one point my daughter used a spiritual tether to slip around the deer's neck to let it pull her along in a race, but the deer told my wife that that was wrong so my daughter now treats it with the respect that is due.

Your wife and daughter have the same helper? How did that come about?

Hi
Not too sure as they don't think of things as Shamanism. but my wife's "helper" gave her a poem concerning a rat and when she mentioned this to the daughter she said how strange as she had jus seen a rat in the road. This happened with another animal, and then my daughter said that she had seen a third animal and did my wife know what it was. My wife's "helper" then gave her a poem with "dear" in it. The "helper" has a sense of humour so my wife knew it was "deer". This was the animal that the daughter had seen...The daughter runs a lot and my wife "tuned " into her during one of the races. She was flagging. My wife also saw a stag appearing by the roadside to encourage the daughter. It left when the race finished. My wife told the daughter of its appearance and since then my daughter has "seen" the stag encouraging her during races. The stag I have been told by my wife, is for inspiration and strength.

I agree, this isn't shamanism. What is it that your wife dies? I assume from the comment about it being deer because it had a sense of humour that she is following some tradition that associates humour with deer. Does this mean she has not actually seen the 'helper'?

Hi
My wife has a mentor who conveys writings about the universe, but there is a teacher of philosophy who is presenting himself as a stag and it is he who has the sense of humour. Her mentor said that the stag is portraying inspiration and strength for our daughter.
My wife has not actually seen her helper, but has visionary perception of the stag.

What would it mean to see a hurt and bloodied deer with a broken antler in a public place when your'e with a lover? I had this happen and it started to walk towards me but the person I was with saw it before I did and pulled me away before it got close to me. Would this be a bad omen?Ive never heard of anyone else ever experiencing this before.

Do you do shamanism, yourself? Because this, in itself, is not shamanic. So all I can say is - what did it mean to you? There is no directory of meanings for these things. Shamanism is a way of relating to spirits, going on a trance journey in order to communicate with them.
It could, of course, mean that there was an injured deer where you happened to be. Was there something that made you think it should be an omen?
