Went away to Essex at the weekend, about 19 of us and we were all making our native American drum, it's was very hard work but it was worth it in the end. I brought mine home to paint. We stayed in our own tents in the clearing in the woods, we had a native flute player and he took all the ceremony's. At the end when all drums were made, we gather in a circle and each person stood up and went to cleanse there drum and then came and started to play it, in the end every one was in tune and 19 drums sang from the heart. The best experiences I ever had. I now made a nice cover to keep my Drum in and I play her every morning when I welcome in the New Day.

That sounds just wonderful Lightwinds...
I can remember going on a 'Drumming' day last year sometime...and it was just enchanting...the music/beat comes from the very soul, we didn't make any drums ~ I should imagine that was a wonderful experience ... maybe one day eh!

I could get really lost in that way of life, I think I'd be happy as a pig in mud (being polite) to run off and find a community that lived as best they could in that fashion.
But until that day comes, I'll have to go on some of those weekends you've been on Wendy. I've had the pleasure of beating a Shamans drum before, she told me to hold close to my heart when I beat it, the vibrations felt amazing!!! Loved it!!

Yes will let you both know when the next drum weekend is, although it is hard work and the finger are slightly sore, it is well worth it.
You really need to experience the wind flowing through the trees as it joinsthe rythum of yourDrum and your Heartbeat. I will go back again and make another one.
Also, the meeting of people who told amazing storys of their spiritualjourneysin life was wonderful.
Something touch my spirit that weekend, that one cannot put into words.
