Hi everyone,
Am fairly new to this forum, and my first experience of Shamanism was on a course with Jane Shutt at the North Yorkshire Shamanic Centre, in November last year - which was an incredible experience.
Wondered if people on here. had read a book and "done it" or had been on courses etc?

O'Siyo Myjosette,
Often people refer to themselves as half breed or mixed blood of which most of us are.
What we fail to acknowledge are the rest of our ancestors. I cannot honour just part of myself I honour all of myself for without all of our ancestors we would not be here today or who we are today or what we are today. To honour only a part of our heritage diminishes the active role our other ancestors made to our creation. So if anyone refers to you as a half breed or mixed blood say yes I am and I am proud of it.
Big Hugs,

RE: How did you get into shamanism?
Basicly from my first breath on the blue and green globe we call our home plantet earth i have lived a live of exreams, from emotional pain to ill health to actual pain, this all came to a climax on the 14 July 1987 when i was given a sucesful kidney transplant, now 17 years onwards my kidney function is wonderful but the rest of me is like a dented knight in rusty armour!
Given that i was born a empthic clairvouyant my life and journey is a form of Shamanic trial i live with both the emotional and actual painful understanding that gives me a greater understanding that allows me to perceive the world in a very difrent fashion, were others learn Shamanic right i just follow the karmic journey that my maker directs me to explore, i except all and learn from both postive and negative but my rule of law is never to take life too personaly as it my birth right and mine alone to explore.
My calling and karmic journey is more to act like a directional beam of guideing light, others find me and use my ablity to refind themselves, in return i am self empowered, i learn from all who are placed before me, i help them explore thus to it is pathway a karmic journey.
I give myself a name Shamanic meaninc i follow the guideing light i have no other training other my historical past, i seek to freely share with all in the spirit of free open exchange, if i can help i will knowing i also gain and learn.
🙂
RE: How did you get into shamanism?
Hi Apache,
I never "got into shamanism" as such. It was part of my normal life growing up and I thought that everyone was doing it. I was very ill as a child and the doctors didn't know what was wrong. I survived and my grandmother started teaching me about plants, folklore, travelling etc. That was over 50 years ago. Since then I've travelled, met people and studied but always come back to my own Celtic/Native European roots as a source of strength and wisdom.
Every person who uses "shamanism", under whatever name, always has a wonderful, unique story to tell. The how's and why's are as fascinating as the journeys.
