Woken this morning by an incredibly itchy left sole... couldn't get to sleep for it (too hot anyway), so off I went for a walk to greet the day. I chanted Om Gum Gama Pata Yeha Yamaha (nearest spelling) while the sun began to rise... soft pinks changing into peach...blue sky becoming more brilliant blue as the colours reached out from the horizon over my head... I switched to my power song and then praised Father Sun as peach turned to gold turned to white gold and the far horizon began to pinken... beautiful.
My reward was a bat flying by (only last night I thought about how I'd not seen on in a long time) and two magpies, one after the other, sillouetted against the bright sky. Then, as the breeze got up and midgies nipped, a small black breast feather floated serenely past me, about six feet off the ground... landing in the boggy grasses on the slope below.
