Going to pick up the Prof from the station; he was giving a talk, a buzzard flew down a tunnel of trees towards me in the car. It was flying straight for me. As we passed it flew only three or four feet over the roof of the car.

On the way back from the station, with the Prof, a weasel ran across the road just in front of us. Mmm... I thought that's good!

What do you think?

Hi Norbu...

I have not worked with any of these creatures so cannot give you personal experience..but generally, the Weasel represents Stealth, speed, agility, and cunning. They are wasteful predators. I have taken the following from the Guided Journal . Making Medicine by David Carson.

Quote
Weasel will slip past you unnoticed (didn't for you though did he?...clue in there, he wanted to be seen right across your path perhaps?) Stealthy weasil knows precisely when to act, and does so with precision, but only after digesting the known facts. learn to be quick, silent and strong. This is the way of the Weasel. How can you apply Weasels teachings to your own situation? Do you have all the facts you need? Perhaps you should list what you know and what you don't know. Let Weasil help you get in there and ferret out what you need.

You want the data? Imagine how weasil might go about getting it.

Weasel knows how to smoke out the situation in order to understand it.

The shrewd, stealthy Weasil strikes again!

Learn Weasel medicine so you can sneak down the blind alleys until you find the right one.

Weasel says "Cut to the chase. Be silent (not hard for you then:D) Be deadly, Get what you want, I do"

Unquote

Will "ferret" out some info on Buzzards when I have a bit more time..HTH

Hi Fleur,

Thanks for your thoughts on weasels. That's very interesting. Mmm... I think I might have learned to become a bit of a weasel! I do love it when I see one though. It was just such a co-incidence this time with the buzzard. I also am very fond of birds of prey in general and often see them when others don't. I'm not sure I'd think of either weasels of buzzards as "wasteful predators" though.

##Hi Norbu,

as I said, not exactly my thoughts as I have no experience of them, just taken the quote from one of my many Animal Medicine books...:)

Its the weasel which is the wasteful predators apparently they eat the brains and blood only, and leave the rest :speechless-smiley-0 Buzzards like the Vulture, clean up a whole carcass , good for cleaning up completely after carnage (or arguments clearing the energies)... perhaps good they arrived almost together, one picks the brains, while the other picks the bones. 😎

Thanks for that. It's really nice example of interdependence - controlling populations of rabbits as well as the idea of cleaning up carrion. If there weren't weasels the buzzards might go hungry and there might be too many rabbits too.

Hi, hope you don't mind me adding to this thread with my view x

Buzzards like to roam alone, until they meet there mate and once found they like to pair up for life.

Quote from Wikipedia
“Male performs a ritual aerial display before the beginning of Spring. This spectacular display is known as 'the roller coaster'. He will rise high up in the sky, to turn and plummet downward, in a spiral, twisting and turning as he comes down. To then rise immediately upward to repeat the exercise”

Buzzard could be showing you that!

It can represent a need to perform a mating ceremony, or catch someone attention.
Or a feeling to re-address love vows between couples.

You may also feel a need to wonder around in a nearby woods or forest to be at one with nature and listen to the tree spirits wisdom.

Weasel perform “ Weasel war dance” after defending their food from other predators
They live high latitudes, and so they have beautiful white coats during winter.

You hear the words “ Food for thought”,

You opening to a higher awareness and this can make you feel a little space out at times, so slow down and ground yourself, then Weasel will not dart out infront of you again, doing his war dance, when winter comes you will be ready to open up to new medicine to help you forward on your sacred journey.

Blessings
