Animal Totems- What they mean...

Hiy. I have had numerous toads around me lately. especially baby ones but also two adults.
Also I have a spider in my shower that has been their weaving her web for almost a month now.
One adult toad was lucky as i was sorting through video box in the garage and then later my boyfriend said he just saved a toad from under the video cardboard box... Basically the toads head was stuck underneath the box and my boyfriend released it. The toad was fine and dandy. we found it a few days later and popped it into the garden somewhere cool. Then another toad- female i think popped up in the garage a few moments later, so i put it near the other toad.
The little toads have been coming out at noght to feed on the snails. We had five in our bungalow one night as wed left the door open. Sadly one of them was squished as i think i either stepped on it as i walked in the door or the door did the damage- not sure which but it hurt me at the thought that id been so neglectful. ALthough at this point i wasnt aware that there were four toads lurking in the bungalow. Slowly,One by one I spotted them, one under our bed, one came from under sofa and two hopped around living room area. They all became aparent at different times. But i picked each up and put it outside near our plant pot which is where andrew said theyve been hiding out.

What do all these occurances mean? Baby Toads? Also another large toad hopped into view last week.

Oh and one more animal...... A small Snake which was about the size of a pencil, dark with a white/yellow mark on its neck. My cat spotted it from quite a distance and began haunting it, and i could not believe it when i saw it!? It was a quick little thing.

Can anyone tell me what these might mean to me?
Ive tried looking up Toads in Other sites but to no joy.
