I spent a wonderful three hours just relaxing and enjoying the sunshine today ...I decided it was far to nice to be at home so took the dog and me up to the embankment one of my favorite places and it's within walking distance.

I walked quite a way before deciding to sit under the branches of a huge oak tree ~ made me feel quite protected in a way, whilst I was there I was greeted by the horses in the near by field, the swans & ducks came and said 'hello' and it was just increadable watching these elegant creatures just take off from the river into the air without hardly any effort at all.

After a while I wandered a little more deciding to sit on some steps that lead down to the waters edge where I was greeted by the fish, damselflys and a heron...which popped it's head up from his/her nest just on the other side of the river...eventually deciding to fly over to the same side as me...not getting to close, but close enough for me to enjoy the splender of this graceful bird
As I became aware of the time I started to wander back along the waters edge to civilisation picking up some swan feathers on my way, it was then that I was stopped in my tracks by a grass snake...I just couldn't believe it, I hadn't seen a snake out in the wild for such a long long time it was an honour for me and Merlin (the dog) was totally puzzled by it.
The Oxeyed Daisies graced the river banks along with various other wild plants and the water lilies are in bud...could just see the yellow of their flower peeping through...and the sun shone...It's when I see the beauty of nature around me I realize just how lucky I am to be alive...kind of puts things into prospective and I guess each of those little creatures had a story to tell...& I shall enjoy listening

Thank you for your comments everyone....
It's a wonderful experience to be outside with nature and I try as often as possible even if its only sitting by the pond in our garden:)

Many blessings
