has anyone got this deck? I have, its the rider waite where the images are illustrated from using a 'back to front' perspective.
While i've had this deck for quite some time, and never really bonded with them, this morning i felt inspired to pick them up again and may even start to use them instead of my usual cosmic tarot.:)

I have them Calla, they are unusual but I havn't really done much with them. 🙂
I was disappointed with some of the images, as they didn't have anything further to 'reveal', and its been a mystery to me why one of the figures of the devil card seems to have a bunch of grapes sprouting from their tail!

Now ,............ I have just got have a look haven't I 😉
First thing I got when I looked at that particular figure, Calla , is the forbidden fruits aspect, grapes wine, alcoholism, addictions, temptation.
Grapes of wrath...anger, tying in with base instincts.
Interesting thoughts Fleur, it now makes sense why a bunch of grapes appear- thanks for sharing

Hi Calla Lily,
I bought this deck as soon as it was published as I work a lot with The Universal Waite Deck. I do like it though I use it primarily for myself and just a couple of days ago did a reading with it, which was very enlightening!
I have used it for a few free readings online, I know I did a couple of TABI ones (Oh happy days) but not face to face for anyone. It's a deck I like to really "get into" and there are some unusual and sometimes quite obscure details to ponder...lovely 😀
Have you got the accompanying book? It's not good, stilted and does little to help you understand the deck...in my opinion.
Do let us know how you get on with these cards....you too FLeur 🙂
Try laying your Rider Waite out and then placing the same card from the New Vision on top of it and compare...if you haven't already done so of course 😉 It's pretty obvious I know!
I think I'll get my deck out this afternoon, hubby is out for the day so it's just me and the dogs and a nice glass of wine...

Yes, i have the accompanying book Tarotlady and agree, its not really worth the paper it was printed on!
While i don't own the Rider-waite ( as it didn't 'call' out to me like my Hanson-Roberts did!) i'm going to have a nosy on line to compare images as you suggested.:)

I also have this deck and find quite a lot of the cards amazing and a few others a bit disappointing (like the Emperor and Hierophant, where you only see the backside of the throne).
I was thinking buying the companion book, but now thanks to your messages, I will not. 🙂
funnily enough, I've never used it in readings, but I use it in tarot lessons for my students to compare with the regular RWS images and develop their perception and intuition. These cards are always good talking points and generate lots of new ideas.

faery cards
After building up my confidence with the Angel cards I came across my faery tarot cards today.. I had bought them and opened them but at the time there were so many cards in the pack (plus the fact I was trying to learn everything about them from the book) I found them hard to understand....... However on going back to them today because what I learnt while working with the angel cards is you need to think like an angel and believe in your inner angel........ So today with this in mind I cleared my own thoughts and found a quiet space and using the same ideas as to working with the Angels I put myself in faery mode.......... Looks like i'd just been trying too hard to understand the books before as today the cards just seemed so easy to read...... Kind of like a complementary addition to my own thoughts.......
Being content with little is what makes us rich ! 🙂
You seem very much on the right track with your cards oneflower, sometimes we just need to wait until the time is right 🙂
I predict (;)) you will be buying a couple more decks in the not too distant future!
