Can anyone recommend a good set of Angel Cards? I have tarot cards but find them a bit difficult to understand (I've got 2 guidance books and still can't fathom the cards) and have decided to try Angel cards instead.

I'd like to know people's experiences of the cards and whether some sets are more accurate/relevent than others.

Thanks in advance.

Donna. x

Hi Donna,

I don't think anyone can recommend a set of Angel Cards, they can only say which ones they work with best, and we will all have our own favourites. As for which ones are most accurate/relevant, you must remember that the cards are simply a tool, it's your intuition that gives life to the reading. The best thing to do is to go along to a shop that sells angel cards and see which deck call out to you - just as you would with tarot cards.

My first deck was the Archangel Oracle cards, they kept calling out to me and they are still my favourites, the ones I work best with, yet 2 of my friends can't get on with them at all. However sometimes I feel drawn to use the Archangel Michael cards as their messages, although essentially the same as the Archangel cards, are softer, more gentle - however the cards have prayers on them so may not be suitable if the person you're reading for is anti-religion! The Archangel Raphael cards are good for readings around health issues as you might expect. I can't get on with the Goddess Guidance cards, but these are the ones I'm drawn to when someone else offers to give me a reading. And then we can wander into other card decks such as the Unicorn cards which another friend swears by...the choice is endless and very individual!

All of the above are Doreen Virtue decks, and all come with an instruction book that gives a detailed explanation for each card and also guidance on how to do a reading. Doreen seems to have cornered the market but there are other angel cards out there by people such as Diana Cooper, Ambika Wauters and many more.

Hope that helps more than hinders but I would definitely suggest going into a shop and seeing which cards call out to you.

With love,
Amber

I agree totally. I love the archangels they are my favs also BUT to be honest, I think the cards choose you not the other way around. Trying going to a reputable store adn run your hands across all the cards see which ones you feel drawn too

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to visit my local shop this afternoon and see if any of the decks call to me. I don't know if I'll be buying any today cos I might order them off the net... gotta try and save me pennies where I can!

I like Theolyn Cortens' Angels Script cards, Chrissie Astell's Angel Insight and the card sets produced by Angela McGerr.

I did a workshop with Chrissie Astell using her Angel Insight Cards and found it very instructive.
