Mine would have to be when I was a kid and my teddy was thrown towards me from the other end of the room. it was on my pillow one minute and when I went to pick it up, I couldn't find it. I was looking everywhere and then looked up, and at the back of the room, in mid air, it just appeared and hurtled towards me, down the side of the bed. I was really scared!
Have had lots of experiences since then, some scary but not that made me so terrified as that! Plus have learned how to control them now!
Anyone else?
RE: what's your spookiest experience?
My 'spookiest experience' has to be one of my most recent ones when I walked past my husbands 'spirit' in the living room...whilst he was crashed out having a seizure on the bedroom floor...now that was spooky[:o]

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Some time ago now. The cat was lying on my feet in bed one night and started to move up the bed towards my head. Was then that I realized that the cat was shut in the kitchen.... When I turned on the light there was nothing there.
Didn't get much sleep that night! [&:]

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Hmm dont think I ever had a spooky experience...not that I am encouraging one to happen.
Though my first experience of spirit walking was a little weird to say the least?
I like crystals and I have a piece of Amozonite. This stone had been on my bedside table for some weeks now helping me progress and get over variuos things that were happening in my life at the time:eek:[sm=sad2.gif]. Anyway. This stone appeared at my mams house and she rang up and said it had appeared in her bedroom![sm=idea.gif]
I was like Oooooo As i had a dream a few night before where I had packaged the stone up in a small balck pouch and transported it somewhere. I have no small balck pouches!!!
Obviously the Angels meant for my mam and dad to have it as at the time they were going through a real rough path.
Now everything is ok
Well I know it aint spooky but its weird lol:D

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
oooohhh good topic, mine has to be when I was about 7 (this sounds really kitch but it's the truth....promis..xx) it was the night before halloween (see I told you it would sound kitch) & I was waiting in my hall for my brother to get his boots on to get ready to take me to the shops to buy a mask as I was going to a friends birthday party the next evening, as I waited I looked through into the living room which was in darkness & there was this man sitting in the corner on the arm chair....he had the face of someone who sleeps rough...grey scraggly hair, wrinkly face with the most sinister grin on it but he was wearing a black suit & tie with something like a bowler hat....I stood froze to the spot just staring at him scared wittles until my brother finally came....I can still remember him vividly....pitty know one I tell believes me [:@]

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
i dont think i may be qualified, if that is the correct term, to reply to this post, however i have experienced some events which im sure would come into this category, firstly ive always been what i would describe as a very scientific person, not very religeous, praps even sceptical, though very tolerant of others beliefs, when my mother died, i was 22, and lived in our home alone after, although my girlfriend did move in, for the following 6 months i could feel some sort of well, feeling, i used to hear floorboards creaking doors closing, nothing loud but audible, after 6 months these noises and feelings dissapeared, i put this down to the grieving period of losing my mother, coming to an end, during this period i also used to have a feeling of sometimes being followed not all the time but occaisionally this also ceased, i have always put this down to grieving,
however i had a similar feeling, i cant describe it but there, im interested in welsh and celtic history, which is full of all sorts of mystical events, being scientific i have put this down to legend and storytellers, however not far from where i live is a castle, its name is dinas bran in the dee valley above llangollen, this castle is built upon an earlier celtic fort, from where it gets its name, bran was an ancient celtic king, dinas bran was the centre of the local group of celtic forts that defended the higher ground just outside wrexham, so one sunday i took myself and my children up this very steep hill to the fort,
up at the top, recovering, i had this same feeling i had for months after my mother died, i looked down the steep slopes and there was a large black bird just, what seemed to be looking at us, it eventually flew off and this feeling subsided, it then struck me, the name bran, the ancient celtic king, when translated is crow, now is that spooky

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Great posts i have enjoyed reading them all 😀
Ok i too am not "qualified" and know very little about the paranormal etc.. but i thought i would just add my "spookiest moment".
I must of been about 15/16 years old (am 23 in July).. I was sitting on the curb outside my house talking to two of my friends in their car. There is an alley way almost opposite my house with a metal railing at the end. I was nattering away to my friends it was pretty late maybe 10pm i really cant remember..anyway i literally glanced up and saw this man leaning on the railing just staring at me. He didnt say a word just stared, he was slightly overweight, had white hair, wore thick rimmed rectangular glasses and was wearing a white string vest (i dont think i was even born when these were around!).. i got up off the curb looked again and there was nobody there.. i walked over and looked down the alley and couldnt see anyone or anything and i was so quick that theres no way an old man could outrun me in those few seconds.
To this day i still rack my brain.. did i really see someone or was it just my imagination?? but if it was my imagination why would i see someone that looked like that? and in a string vest? its not exactly something you see people wearing anymore..
I do believe in life after death and that people can communicate with spirits.. but im kind of scared by it all i dont know why?
I didnt recognise the man but if it was a spirit, maybe he was trying to show himself to one of my friends and i was the only one who saw him?
Not really a spooky story but it was for me [&:]

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Not sure if mine really happened or was a dream but it spooked me so thought that I would share.
It was one weekend - about 730ish and I had a chat with my hubby as he has got up to use the bathroom and disturbed me. I was trying to get back to sleep and was lay on my side looking at my hub when I felt 'someone' get into bed next to me - on the other side. I felt the bed go down slighty and the covers move and every thing. I was still looking at my hubby but could not move or make a sound or anything. I wanted to look and yet couldn't - it lasted all of 2 minutes but made me a little edgy for weeks afterwards esp when Hub was working away. I am okay about it now but don't fancy it again

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Oooh I've got two 🙂
There is a background story to these so bear with me...
Disclaimer: Please note that at the time of this story I had no experience with anything like this so I was very naieve. I dont intend to offend anyone here.
When I was 17 doing a YTS scheme I met this guy who was 'into' the occult. He told me that his best friend was a high priestess of black magic and did I want to meet her.
Naturally being 17 and having no experience of such things I said YES PLEASE. Almost immediately after I suddenly felt very cold on my left (i think it was left) shoulder. I didnt say anything but Paul turned to me and said something like "Oh he's here then..." I went "What?? Who??" and his response was "Your guardian angel..." Sadly we were then shouted at for talking when we should have been working so that was the end of that conversation.
A couple of weeks later I met the high priestess in the pub (as you do...) and we talked about all things magickal. Although I personally wasnt interested in her style of magic I remember enquiring about the possiblity of white magic. She told me that yes I could get involved with that, I just needed to see the old man. I had the expectation of some old fella coming round to my house to try to convert me 🙂 I thought no further of it and sadly lost touch with Paul and never saw the high priestess again.
A few weeks later I was asleep in bed, the window shut and curtains closed when I woke suddenly. I could see the full moon through the closed curtains and was just watching the shape when the curtains suddenly billowed out as if there was a strong gale in the room but I didnt feel any wind. Then I saw a shape at the end of my bed, as if someone was sitting there and looking at me. I definitely felt as if I was being watched. I dont remember feeling scared, just slightly curious, but I do remember I couldnt move a muscle. I have no idea how long this lasted, felt like ages, but then I blinked and everything was back to normal.
I've always wondered if this was the old man the high priestess had referred to...
Blimey I havent thought about this for years! This happened about 16 years ago. I have read a fair few books on Wicca and never come across the idea of the old man, but if anyone cares to enlighten me on either of these experiences I would be very interested to hear it.
Peace,
Nitelite
RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Babe -
The exact same thing happened to my mum only she is a single parent so she knew that something was up straight away when she felt someone lay next to her. My room is right next door to hers and she tried to call out to me but it was like she just 'froze' she couldnt move or anything. She said it was like she was being hugged really hard, at first she thought it might of been her dad but she felt like it was a very negative energy. Its happend a couple of times but only when she sleeps in the dark so now we both sleep with our doors open and the landing light on, the dog now sleeps on her bed and nothing has happend since.
My sister has also had an experience... she was walking home from a friends house and as she was walking down my road past one of the alley ways (not the one i saw my spirit, there are three in total on my road).. she walked past the alley and she saw (im not quite sure how to describe it) a cloaked, hooded figure like a black shadow.. standing under the street lamp that is half way down the alley. it was completely black she couldnt see a face or anything. She said it came towards her and reached out to try and grab her but she made it home in time...
I looked this 'figure' up and all i could find was that he/she is a watcher/guardian... if anyone one knows anything more or anything different i would love to know.. all these events happend roughly around the same time and we have had nothing since. not that im complaining!!!

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
I like to think mine was either a lost spirit or my angel somehow watching over me - mine felt a little like a hug when I felt the bed move, but at the same time becuase it was scary I am not sure if it was good or bad. Whenever, i feel uptight about it or a little nervous about hub being away - I have a very active imagination when I am in the house on my own - I just ask for Achangel Michael to watch over me and keep me safe - it never fails to work... but if anyone can shed any light on all this I would love to hear.
LOL

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Yes maybe your right! I think she must have felt it as negative because it had frightened her and she could not see it as it was behind her.
I also have a very active imagination when im alone in the house.. the amount of times i have fallen Up (yes UP) the stairs becos i am running so fast i have lost count lol.. I always have the feeling im not alone.. and one of my dogs makes this worse by barking at 'nothing'.. what are we like eh?
I have no experience with communicating with spirits or angels etc so if i were to ask Archangel Michael to watch over me and keep me safe do you think it would work?
Thanks

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
This will sound really mad, but I used to live in a tiny village on the Cambridgeshire fens where my street had only one streetlamp. I was walking my boyfriends dog, she was really old bless her and she was taking her time. I absoloutely loved my street and I felt very safe there so wasn't bothered about being out in almost total darkness after midnight. Anyhoo I felt someone watching me and turned around and there was this big black dog (it looked like a really huge black labrador but with a hard looking face, not at all cute looking like a labrador). At first I thought he dog was going to attack our dog but it was ignoring the dog and just looking straight at me. I felt really, really uneasy so I started walking backwards to my house. At some point this dog just disappeared. The next day I got a call at work to tell me my dad was dying. He had had a massive stroke just after midnight the previous night. I just made it the 200 miles on the train back to kiss him goodbye. It was only when I went back to work and was telling my friend about the dog and how it had seemed spooky the way this weird thing had appeared the night before my dad's death that the colour drained from my friend's face and she told me the story of "Black Shuck" the dog that haunts the Cambridgeshire fens and is purported to be an omen of death. I really don't know if this is what I saw or not but I sure know that I don't wanna see that dog again.[:o]

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
I thought I was going mad at the time and put it down to grief I must admit, but so many other people I have spoken to have had similar experiences; shadowy figures/presences or an animal or bird that just 'spooked' them. I'm glad you lot don't think I'm bananas. Ha ha! 😀
RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Hi IndigoHealing,
There have been plenty of odd occurrences as far as I am concerned, but the most spookiest happened to me about 10 years ago. I had just dropped my friend off after a night out and I was driving home along a dark country road in Banstead, Surrey. It was past midnight. To my horror, my blinking car packed in and refused to start. I didn't have a mobile 'phone, so had to get out and walk along the lane (no lights or houses) in search of a telephone box. As I began the walk, a police car came along and flagged me down. The policeman asked me what I was doing out so late, and I told him that my car had broken down further along the lane. He accompanied me back to my car, radioed the station that the car had broken down and wasn't abandoned, and then he offered me a lift home.
I was so grateful to him for taking me home that I decided to call his station and express my thanks. When I rang and told them the policeman's name and where he met me, they were shocked. The desk sergeant told me that that policeman had been killed in a road accident along that lane three years previously, and many people had reported ghostly sightings of him and the car.
My blood ran cold, it really did....this is one personal story that I will include in my book when I decide to write it....!
Hi Wiccawillow,
That definitely sounds like 'Black Shuck' to me. I thought it was a legend, but your story proves that these myths and legends have a basis in fact. I am sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad to a heart attack, too.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Wow songstress what a fantastic experience... maybe he was working with your Angels to help protect you that night

RE: what's your spookiest experience?
Hi XF,
Well, strangely enough, I asked my guide what was going on, after my encounter with the policeman's ghost. The answer that was given was 'You were vulnerable out there, and we sent him to meet you. You would have only accepted a lift from a policeman, and we had to get you home safely.'
I have never forgotten that night. I have heard of similar situations, but I never dreamed that it would ever happen to me first-hand.
Love,
Patsy.
