Meeting a guide would not be scary..love to meet (those from here and there). Ghosts,,spirits of deceased,,I feel calm with...it's like we understand each other...they need reassurance from me ..ok to move on..what scares me as people i encounter randomlu(living) with evil eyes..and I know they wish me harm...so i send out white lite mentally..and it's almost like I know aND RECOGNIXZE THERE DARKNESS..And they see my light..so we agree to move on..and not have an interaction..weird..but like mutual resoect or awareness of each others strengths.

Depending on the feeling that comes with the ghost, guide etc I'm fine with seeing them now. Was a bit scared when it first started and I would see just a head, or arm or leg, but hey ho used to all that now. I wouldn't be scared seeing my guides in front of me. Would be nice to see them without medding!

My first tangerbal link with spirit I remember being as far back as being in my cot.
My first major experience that just about scared the skin off me was when I was 12. I had the winds, flapping curtains etc and I cant tell you just how much it affected me. When I was in my teens - there was the shaking bed thing, the rapping on the wardrobe door, someone yanking my feet when I was in bed etc so most of my teens was spent feeling like [sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif] and I know being the age I was really didnt help.

I have had different on going experiences over the years that have been lovely as well, and I know that I am loved and protected and that it is time to move on and I would love to but deep down I still worry because of all the stuff that happened when I was younger and I want to kick myself. It is so frustrating.

So, if anyone has any ideas of how I can walk over the line towards growing my full potential - ??????????? I would be grateful.

Hello Deliz, do you mean like when a person energy comes close to your energy, you can sence the negitive energy they carry, and so you put up a protective shield.

MC, I know you been on ghost hunts and you know it's not as scarey as it made out to be ....hope you get some good picture oneday from a ghost hunt. Guide are such a loving energy.

Hi, Maxine...Whow you had a few experience, but I would'nt worry about these event happening over again as im shore you are more wiser now....Just feel the fear and go with it and you fine that your fear's are replaced with love as you travel your spiritual pathway.

I think I'm nervous of being attacked by entities who mean to harm you when you're practicing.

Out of interest is it possible to meet other peoples' guides? Ie if you're in the same room as a friend who has a guide, if they meditate and the guide appears to them, can we also (ie is it possible to) join in a discussion?

YES! but so does being able to feel them but not see them!!

hello lightwinds,

my reaction would be to pull the duvet right over my head and not move a muscle if it were night time, or to give a loud yelp(no good at a girly scream!) then run in the opposite direction if it happened during the day!!

on a serious note though, i have had two experiences with ghosts when i was a young girl, and this is where my fear stems from.

the first one happened when i was 5 and alone upstairs getting dressed. it was dark as it was winter, and as i looked towards my mum's bedroom i saw the lower body of a ghost go by. i remember the legs being clad in green tights medieval style.

the second was in the other bedroom several years later- again it was dark and i was alone. i didn't see anything, but the bed started creaking loudly, like someone was jumping on it.on both ocassions i was scared witless, and to this day i don't like the dark.

recently something happened but i don't know whether it was the presence of a ghost/guide as i had been thinking about ghosts prior to falling asleep.i remember being aware of something to the side of my bed, and it was looking over me. my reaction was fear-i couldn't move, i just shut my eyes very quickly , pulled the duvet around me very tightly and it took quite a while for me to get my bearings together.

i feel comfortable knowing there are guides , but not comfortable at all seeing/hearing them.as for ghosts, i am afraid of them.

My biggest fear is ghosts. As i've said before, i've had to sleep the lights on for over a year now since i saw a figure in the corner of my eye. I so miss the peacefulness of lying in bed in the dark, but no matter how hard i try i always end up running to the light switch. My 2 teenage daughters think i'm mad!
I'm sure that if i awoke in the middle of the night and a figure was standing looking at me, my hair would go on end! Seriously though, i would freeze with terror.
With saying that, i would love, and 'need' to feel my guides are around. I ask that they show themselves in my minds eye, 'Please!'
I have always been nervous since i was very young. My mom told me that she rarely got much sleep with me. It would be great though to not have this fear.

I'm very similar to you Aura. I spend all night feeling terrified & hearing (I think) buzzing & movement in the bedroom. But I do turn the light off. Part of me is too scared to sleep with it on in case of what I see. Plus my eyelids roll open when I sleep-not nice for my husband to see!! I always feel I'm a bit of a wuss though. My worst fear is of seeing something right in front of my face that then snarls at me. Or a doll coming to life and chasing me. I refuse to have any dolls in the bedroom but I've relented to the teddy bears my hubbie has bought me -although sometimes I eye them warily.

Yes I think I am insane 🙂

TeriShelly, I am afraid of dolls too!! Especially life size or very realistic ones - when I was little was queing to see Father Christmas for ages and ages with my nan and when we got to the grotto I wouldn`t go in and screamed and cried about: "The models the models are coming!!" - much hilarity with my family for years and years!!!

Still don`t like to have any near me when sleeping and would never ever watch anyof those "Chucky " horror movies!!

Don`t like clowns either they really make me feel scared - even now !!![sm=eeeK.gif][sm=speechless-smiley-040.gif]

Hi Darren, yes it is possible to join in a discussion or to see and interact with another's guide... it happens to me quite a lot, during healing sessions or meditations with a friend. I usually acknowledge them and sometimes pass on a message to the person if they can't contact them directly.

If it's a case of a guide appearing to a friend and you want to ask them questions, you can do that easily. They can hear you and if you are part of the overall energy of the meditation, your thoughts to them will be heard also.

Oh, and there's no need to fear 'attack' if you are in a clear state of mind and focused that only those of similar vibration may enter your aura. Know that you are protected, and you are.

Back to the thread...:D... I've seen my guides with my 'inner' vision and have caught glimpses of spirits/ghosts out of the corner of my eye but I've yet to physically see a guide. Be pretty darn cool...

What's interesting about the replies so far is that many peoples' fears seem based in childhood incidents, when no one was around to explain what was happening. A co-worker recently met a guide who embraced her... I explained that was for protection and love and she prefered the darker, scarier ones 'cos she's used to them!!! Go figure...

I have been afraid of the dark since childhood, probably because relatives always said things like "dont be scared of the bogey man"...... i always was after that lol.
I do have spirit visit in the night sometimes and stand by my bed.
I am certain that the flat i live in is haunted and my partner agrees. Hes seen and felt someone by the bed.
I am pretty sure its a past resident who wants to know what we are doing in his home.
We have had a few weird experiences like taps being turned on full blast, and one day i was in bed reading a book about reflections and i heard a very loud bang from my daughters bedroom i just thought she had knocked someting over, when i spoke to her at breakfast she said a mirror had just fallen off the wall.
But like i say things in the daylight i can cope with, im just hopeless in the dark!

Thankyou all for sharing your storys and this is going to be a very intresting topic, but have not got time to reply to all as im off to my circle tonight, but will do tomorrow. So will be getting ready soon.
My guide I saw when only young and for real....it was amazing. And the love that generate is Wonderful and not to be scared of.
If you feel the love vibration around you when meditating and a gentle touch apon you.....you have nothing to fear, but saying that....many who ask spirit for proof, and when recieve it can be suddenly full of fear as it can be quite a shock.

For me the fear is both the responsibilty, when it comes to passing on messages...and also the bit of 'me' it takes.

When I was very young...I mean still in my cot a lady used to sit next to me & talk to me, I used to call her Mummy & sometime when I would call out 'Mummy' in the night & my 'real' Mum would come to me I would tell her I didn't mean her I ment the other one, I did ponder wether this may be a past life connection thing but to be honest what difference does it make?? I did used to see people & 'things' that scared me too...but...being very young everything was less 'scarey' then as I had no defination of 'normal' to compare it to!

I carried on seeing people that others can't until I was about 7 or 8......but still....I won't put my money on it if this was my imagination or spirit...but with one thing and another it all stopped....as I grew I became interested in contacting Spirit & did so using things like Ouiji (sp) boards as I'm sure many school kids of the 80's did (pre mobile phone genoration;)) but to be true not something I would recomend...although I've got no nightmare tales to say about it I still feel that it wasn't the cleverest thing that I have done;)

I did used to be scared of the thought (in my late teens) of seeing or hearing a 'spirit' face to face (so to speak)...mainly because of the ghost thing...:eek: But I did used to see them in dreams & did meet a guide that way on a few occasions.

These days I don't realy have any fear, I think thats mainly down to me feeling more positive about my 'own' spiritual path, as I said in the begining of my post ...for me the fear is both the responsibilty, when it comes to passing on messages...and also the bit of 'me' it takes.....I don't know if I'm up for that yet;)

And as Moonfeather said, "Childhood Incidents".

I notice that many programs on TV, Films today, show alot of bad sides to Spirit.
Peolpe question " can these bad things really happen".

I also remember from childhood, people saying, " behave or the boogyman will get you".

The mind can play tricks...yes But lets go further beyond the mind and rise our spiritual awarness. It's good to share each other veiw's and experiences.

We love the Sun as it bright and full of warmth.
But how many people hide from the Sun when it shine it's light.
We put on Dark glasses, we pull the shades, we protect ourselves from it's ray's
But yet we learn to embraces and welcome the Sun even thou we fear it could harm us.

Sad to say, Lightwinds... [&:] I do wish there was more emphasis on the JOY of spirit! My teacher has always tried to teach that - very successfully, IMO - and having seen and felt the difference the energy of joy makes, I'd love more people to be aware of this facet of spiritual work. Just remembering a night with a circle when I asked them all to bring along or discuss something which inspired them... only myself and one other had a clue! [:o]

I forgot to tell you

When I was going thru all of the freaky stuff as a teenager when it reached its peak everytime I shut my eyes I would see my room as it was with this little old lady dressed from head to toe in black standing over me next to the bed. Everytime I opened my eyes there was nothing there but all the weird stuff carried on.

Three years later I was at a circle for the first time with my Nan (She was very spiritual) and this lady in the circle stood up and said "I have been watching you sitting there figeting (SP) and I have to tell you there is this little old lady standing behine you dressed in head to foot in black and she is really peed off with you becuase she has been trying to get your attention for ages and you keep ignoring her! (This lady then went on to warn me off a marriage proposal etc) She says you are very stubborn and she has tried everything to get through and you know she has been there!" I felt really guilty after all this talk about pulling all the stops out. I have to say she was very creative. I can just imagaine her sitting there fuming thinking well maybe this will do it.

As I type this it is also highlighting the fact that I really should be looking at the whole thing and not just concentrating on the fear I have created for myself. I stand corrected and yes LIGHTWINDS - you are so right Talk about illumination time![sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=nature-smiley-008.gif][sm=1kis.gif]

I've read everybody elses fears and have to agree that as a child I was terrified of anything remotely ghostlike and was afraid of my own shadow. I made pretty sure that I was having nothing to do with all that malarkey BUT then due to the loss of someone very close to me, I began to explore the world of spirit.

I began to sit in a development circle and wonderful things happened that were so ingrained in love that there was no way I could be afraid. On some occasions spirit came through and showed themselves (transfiguration) and appeared as solid as me. (Mind there was one pirate who looked a bit scary, he only had one eye, looked a bit of a rogue.;) )

Lightwinds I would just love to see one of my guides, the thought of it makes me glow.

Maxine, 😀 well she did percist in finding the right moment to get your attention. If im working in my circle I tend to close my eyes alot and see lots of symbols, crossed over souls etc.. and I find working in the dark not scarey at all;).

What's the first thing a person who see a ghost like maybe in there bedroom(lot's of people fear this) and they are scared, some just close their eyes and hide under the covers.....but closeing your eyes dose not mean the ghost will go away, it mean you could very well see them more clearly.
When you meditate you close your eyes (vision symbols). When you go to sleep, you close your eyes (dreams, vision).
It's surpriseing how much spiritual work we do in the dark. You see I believe.........From the Darknees comes the Light.

Yes i am afraid in the dark but only if i'm on my own & or it is behind me. So walking out of a room i have just turned the lights out in , for instance ..my fear is mostly having the dark behind me.

I read somewhere something that made alot of sense in a way when I though about it

I wish I could remember which book it was but anyway the gist of it was

When you think about good and evil or the light and darkness thing, darkness actually serves the light because without all of the things that are done that are contributed to evil and nasty things etc we would not learn the difference between the two and make the decision to follow the light, we would not learn anything because our greatest lessons learned are those that are learned in times strife which help us grow in experience.

Mostly I am okay with the dark but for years I slept with the hall light on until I was in my twenties!

Lightwinds, i look in the mirror a lot to see my aura.
The longer i sit there the stronger the colours are. Though sometimes they appear murky and dark which actually worries me.
At times, especially if say i'm staring at my forehead, in my perlipheral vision, i look like a different person. Also after a while, if i stare into my eyes long enough, my face definitely seems to change, especially around the eyes.
There seems to be 3 different faces, one is obviously a lot younger than as my lines dissapear. At first i convinced myself that the colours wer what was changing my features, but now i don't think that's true.
Problem is, i am so short-sited and can't see anything definite.

Aura, hope you don't mind my butting in here... you don't need to worry about murky or dark aura colours - you are simply being shown negativity or heavier energies which need to be worked on, which we all have. While you sit there, why not send light, joyous energy to those areas and ask if your guides can help you clear them?

Had to smile about being short-sighted... I am really miopic so I have to wear specs! 😀

Sounds as if you are doing really well with this though. To get better definition, perhaps you need to relax more and allow it to come?
