Hi Thunder, im a spiritual medium and i develope my spiritual awareness myself.....Well not alone i had my guide and helpers.
I have a room and i like to sit and meditate in there and also send healing. Surrounded by thing i love. It's nice to have a retreat were you can find peace and if you work with the love vibration......there's know reason for neagtive energys to be around. I go in my room and i light sage to clence and then i sit with gentle music in the background and some candles Then i sit and ask for divine love and guidence and say a few prayers. If i need grounding my guide shows me a oak tree... if i need to work on chakra colors...my guide shows me a rainbow. Learn to trust and work with your guide and build upone that. Then as you go to sit to tune in....you can learn the symbols you are given by your guide. Alway ask at the beginning for protetion by surrounding yourself in a white bubble of light. In my experience my guide has never let any negative spirit take any controll. Many people like to develope in many different ways. But this is how i do it on my own. It's dosen't have to be hard....just simply remenber to work with a love vibration. And im shore spirit will teach you. And also i talk to the angels in my room aswell. Any meditations just ask your guide to look after you and alway become aware of your feet on the ground.
At the end finish off by saying a closing prayer and thank those that have come to teach and give you guidence.
Well just a little bit of how i work on my own. I think i put the main thing in.

Hi Thunder,

I don't have any advice to offer you but you asked a question that I had also been wondering about for a long time.

I would love to develop as a medium but found the churches didn't feel right for me at all.

I wasn't sure if this was something I could do by myself as whenever I have meditated in the past in a group the 'vibes' seem a lot stronger that when I meditate alone, which I know I don't do often enough!
Anyway, its nice to know I'm not alone here,:)

I don't know if you're into Reiki at all but according to a book I have - Reiki for Life by Penelope Quest it is possible to develop your psychic awareness with Reiki 2 skills. It might be worth getting attuned as part of your path if it appeals to you?

Hi, you can learn from being in a group....it just finding the right one......and i just never fitted in.
But for beginners i would recommed them. But if not then work on yourself...but your never alone....guidence is always there.
