I was giving someone a "quick blast" of reiki the other day after a massage as she had a bit of a poorly tum...anyway i felt this very strong presence....I was only doing this for around 5 minutes or so...when she got up I asked her if she knew of either a Mary or an Isabel and initially she said no, by the time i had washed my hands and come back she said she had and that Mary was her Great Aunty (passed), her sister was here and she told her sister who immediately said that Isabel was her step grandmother (passed)...I dont know where the names came from or how they even got out of my mouth but the did...it obviously left her a little freaked initially but then really happy and warm....any clues or thoughts...

Wow, thats brilliant!
I really believe that you 'tune in' to the person you are channelling the reiki to and you were right to just instinctively say the names of the spirits that were coming to you, even ifyou didn't realise it at the time! Hope it gets stronger for you so you can pass on more messages and reassurance!

I have posted elsewhere recently that this is happening more and more to me recently when giving Reiki to clients. At first I was in a quadary about what to do, do I tell them or keep quiet as they were with me just for Reiki?.
In the end I decided to tell as I thought it was only courtesy as the spirit had made such an effort to come through! The most recent was an elderly gentleman I was seeing who had multiple breaks in his ankle from an accident 2 years ago. The Reiki sessions were working really well and he was really pleased. One day while I was at his house his phone started ringing in the hallway. He carried on talking and ignored it. I asked him why he didn't answer it he said "there will be no-one there dear. It's the extension phone and it has stareted to ring on it's own without the main phone ringing. I've had it checked but there is no reason for it and trhere's never anyone there." I asked him if this had been going on for a long time but he said no, only a few weeks. I then realized it had started after our first Reiki session!
At each visist I would casually ask about the phone and he would say that it had rang again. This gentleman's wife had died 5 years ago and he still felt bitter that the doctors had let her down. On our last session, as I was treating him a lady suddenly appeared at my side and kept saying to me "MARIE, MARIE. I asked if she had a message for this man and she said "Time to move on, time to move on. Have FUN!!" The fun showed up in front of me in enormous letters with the exclamation mark!!!! With that she disappeared.
When the Reiki was finished I asked the client what was his wife's name and he said "I used to call her Molly but her name was Marie". I then asked if she had brown wavy hair and wore glasses?. He gave me a strange look and then went over to a dresser and pulled open a drawer and took out a photo and showed it to me, it was the lady I had seen!.
I then said that I had a message from her and gave it. He laughed and said that only that week he had agreed to go on holiday with his son's family in the summer and it was his first since she had died. I then said that I thought the problem with the phone could have been her trying to get through to him and if it should ring again then maybe answer it and let her know he had got the message. At that exact moment the phone began to ring!!! We both jumped and looked at eachother in amazement. He then slowly got up, went to the phone and said "hello Mollie , I have got your message. remember that I love you my darling. Thank you" (I was nearly in tears listening to this I can tell you). He then put the phone down and came back and sat down. He looked at me and said "you couldn't have got that timing even if you had arranged it could you!" I admitted that I was feeling a bit spooked myself but thought that from now on he wouldn't get any more 'phantom' calls. He said he would let me know if they continued and it's been a month now and I haven't heard.
IMHO I feel that when giving Reiki we emit such a powerful energy that spirit can 'come in' on it and use it for giving messages. It seems to be happening to me more and more lately.
