RE: Let's talk colours

My favourite colours have gradually changed over the last year or so.
I used to love burgundy, dusky reds, that kind of thing but now i'm so into green!
Teal, olive and duck egg blue are some of my favourites.

Turquoise and coral are my current favourites. Any thoughts on what they represent?

Moogy

Nice to see you back here after such a long gap, and how interesting that you've brought this thread back to the forefront, particularly as we've had so many new members join in the meantime.:)

June

I think if you scroll back up this thread (this is page 2 of a long one), you'll find Lightwinds covered pretty well all colours - if not, we'll just have to wake her out of hibernation, won't we LOL 😀

RE: Let's talk colours

Hello june, nice to see the colour tread up again.

TURQUOISE

This is such a rich, lustrous color! It is the symbol of protection and good fortune. It is the color of power manifesting on the Earth plane. Both the color Turquoise and the gem stone of the same name have very strong karmic ties to Atlantis. The presence of this color shows a linkage between the individual and previous lifetimes in Atlantis where the individual possessed unusual "powers" and capabilities. The color Turquoise acts as a catalyst to re-awaken these memories and therefore, re-awaken the abilities the individual once possessed.

CORAL

In India and Italy, Coral of all colors is still looked upon as a "ward" or talisman against the evil spirits which hover around in life and after death. To the Atlanteans, Coral was considered to be the Sea-Tree of the Mother-Goddess and endowed ideas and aspiration.
What color Coral was you drawn to June?

hope this helps you.

I wore turquoise yesterday, and I'm wearing the bright pink of my avatar today. I love them both, also blues and purples, and amethyst.

Hello Wendy

I was told that turquoise and coral are/were?? much favoured by the Native American Indians. Do you agree?

Dear Holistic, I always found I felt too"obvious" in bright colours, so stopped wearing them. Do you wear them to boost your feelings or because of them? 🙂

Laura, yes I agree. I have alot of Turquoise............my best bit is what my father-in-law gave me.......a silver and turquoise cuff bracalet, that was made by an old native american man. Father-in-laws mother was a bit of a world traveler so it was past to me....and then it gose to my young son. Just brought some turquoise beads the other day, to work with.

RE: Let's talk colours

Sarajo, in answer in to your question:

I always found I felt too"obvious" in bright colours, so stopped wearing them. Do you wear them to boost your feelings or because of them?

Gosh, I had to stop and think about that one!!! I think the answer has to be … a bit of both. In many respects, I am quite outgoing (more so than when I was younger) so my choice of bright colours may be a reflection of that. On the other hand, if I know I look good, then I automatically feel good – sorry if that comes over as vain, it’s not meant to. But I don’t go for gaudy from head to toe … bright top with jeans or black trousers maybe. Or colour co-ordinated eg burgundy trousers, pink top. I apply the same principles when decorating my home, or planting in the garden, I like colours to be harmonious.

What bright colours did you wear before you stopped wearing them? What would you like to wear now?

There are a lot of colours I like but would never wear, though I think they look great on other people. The image consultants who “do your colours” take account of skin tone as well as hair, eyes etc. So any colour with yellow in it, like orange or olive green, just does nothing for me.

Sometimes, though, I find myself eating the colours I need – if on an orange-needing day my lunch might be vegetable soup with carrots and tomato, Leicestershire cheese and orange juice!!!

Wendy,

Was this thread originally a spin off from another about colour? I’m sure we’ve talked before about eating colours, but putting “colour” into search was just too vague and I couldn’t find it. Perhaps you have a better memory than I?

What a gorgeous bracelet – and I think I know what Sarajo felt about it, and what then came to me is that it is now in your possession for the sadness to be taken away. Make any sense?

Back later … dinner nearly ready … cream colours and green. What does that mean apart from chicken, baked potato and broccoli?:D

Laura.

RE: Let's talk colours

Thanks Wendy, that certainly makes sense. As you know, I have recently started writing again. After a long absence, part of that process means re reading and adding to what I have already done. At the moment then I am working on the chapters on Atlantis. I can also feel our skulls beginning to activate again after a long period of hibernation. They are also of course Atlantean in origin.

As for the coral though, the colour is difficult to describe, almost a cross between red and orange, a bit like a beautiful sunset in fact, or a bit like the colour of carnelian (my favourite crystal). It has always been one of my favourite colours (as has orange), and luckily one that suits me really well. For me I think it represents vitality, and creativity, both of which are flowing in abundance at the moment I am happy to say. Spring is definately in the air, and in my step too!

RE: Let's talk colours

Wow, go away for a few days and you find a humungous thread has emerged! 🙂 I've long been fascinated by colours and have my clothes hung in related shades so I can choose more easily according to my mood/need. Last night, for instance, I was getting something for our visit to 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and the word 'green' popped into my head. I argued with it 'cos it was freezing and I didn't have something nice to put over the armless green dress... so I put on a cozy crimson one instead.

ANYWAY... as I ramble on... I am interested in the interp. of peach, since that is a colour I vibrate to and never found any info on... damn difficult to find clothes in that colour though. [&:]

Peacock blue is another vibrant colour mix which came to me during spirit work last year... spent ages trying to find the right mix to paint it... I've long thought that we get particular colours as we progress spiritually - nice to see that confirmed.

What's the title of the book, so I can look out for it?

Blessings

RE: Let's talk colours

hi again!
I used to wear anything and everything. Then was told black was slimming and it was more flattering to wear dark colours. (not so subtle hint from my family!!)

then after a while I was black or navy blue as I went through my Goth period!

Then when I got married became v mumsy and wore browns and dark oranges a lot

got divorced and wore (almost religiously)black trousers and t shirts - mostly pale pinks and turquoise)

have had 2 more children and tended to wear anything that fitted for a while!!!

Now I think i need to experiment again and be a bit more advenurous, (although, to be fair, black doesn`t show baby sick!!)

spring is nearly here so maybe I`l be inspired!![sm=jump2.gif]

RE: Let's talk colours

Hi, yes the braclet has had a sad feeling and i felt it more last year before christmas as my partner nan died and it was hers.
But it also carry memories from the native american, it was in a glass cabinet but is now out and is injoying relaying past storys with me......... and has been clence, will show you bracelet again when she is ready.

Sarajo, yes now spring is comming, just look at what color you are drawn to and blend yourself in with the colors and nature.

Kath, i feel you could be drawn more to blue's.

June, i think the coral is a truth seeking color as it come from the oceans energy.........and i feel as with the stone it hold the secrets to Alantis.

Willowtree, White is the highly spiritual color which indicates the hand of the Creator guiding the a person in many unseen ways. White represents Truth...Universal Truth.

Moonfeather, yes im glad threads come up again. I only got Peach Gold in book.
This color represents Enlightenment, Restoration, and soul Advancement. It is the color of Attainment. It also indicates the power of physical and material manifestation in an individual's life Peach Gold is the color of Rejuvenation on several levels: emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical. This color also represents healing energies obtained from the Life-force itself.

The book is: Keys to Self Realizationby Marilyn Jean Enners
ISBN: 0-914918-91-5 From USA

RE: Let's talk colours

Wendy

I’ve got the book What Colour Are You?: Way to Health Through Colour by Annie Wilson and Lilla Bek** (available from Amazon UK), and found a couple of bits about Peach. After writing about the primary rainbow colours – red, blue etc – the authors go on to say, in a chapter titled Radiations from the Crown:

“But there are colours that radiate further beyond this first etheric level and these have a far wider significance. Here we go beyond body consciousness …..They register our soul experience, our state of consciousness. They are often qualities we have taken from different past lives…..

“PEACH shows a sequence of eight or twelve past lives of service; depending on the shade of peach – chosen to build towards spirit. Each life dedicated to achievement of one virtue. It is a position of status, a mastership.”

Then in a chapter on Opening to Higher Consciousness and on choices of colour to wear or live with:

“PEACH is orange on a higher vibration. For some it is the colour of spiritual love and relates to a more advanced person who has made interesting journeys on the soul level. It may look wrong on some people. A good strong peach however is helpful in a bedroom. It has a wonderful effect on the skin and keeps us youthful. Insipid peach, however, will provoke lethargy since the energies are encouraged to move to a different level. Delicate pink shades have the same effect.”

**Do you know the book, Wendy? It’s very interesting, very much about the chakras and has a section on yoga exercises to energise the difference centres according to their colour.

Wow, this is so interesting, Laura. For ages I've been told that peach is 'my' colour but I've never been able to find out anything about it. And... several years ago, I attended a weekend with Lilla Bek - she's an amazing lady!

I must get this book! And Wendy - thanks for the info about your book. Something to add to my list...

Blessings
Moonfeather

PS interesting also about peach for bedrooms... my very first 'home alone', I wanted the bedroom in peach and had the dickens of a job getting the right shade.
