Uranus is in Aries for 8 years and I wonder what collective changes it will bring.

It coincides with a new government in the UK.

I do not usually think of Tories as having uranian qualities, however the drastic restructuring that appears to be going on says that Uranus will express anywhere and everywhere.

This link will take you to an interesting page that goes into historical cycles of Uranus in Aries, tells you how it might show up for different signs and what to do about it, along with suggestions for flower remedies so we can access the gifts and be less likely to get 'electrocuted'

Thiis is a great article too on Uranus in Aries by Lynn Bell

"Sometimes the frontier between creation and destruction is hard to distinguish. Astronomers tell us that the gaseous explosions of dying supernovae may also give rise to seedling stars. In India, the god Shiva dances the world into being, then sets it on fire, and dances in the flames. Are we dancing on a funeral pyre or conjuring the light of a new world?

These are the questions that arise as Uranus prepares to enter fire, to cross into Aries for the first time in eighty-four years. We can feel ourselves on that border between creativity and destruction. We are seeing the first signs of the new world to come, but if our thoughts are turned to the past we may fear it is the last thing we will see.

The energy of Aries rushes up and forward, out of the oceanic depth of Pisces, the preceding sign. It is not to be denied. This first step into the sign releases a pent up force, much like the transforming fire ice that blew through a whole series of safety valves in the Deepwater Horizon explosion. Methane moved from crystalline form, to liquid, gas, and then to fire, fire so hot that paint melted off the lifeboats, of those who were able to get away.

Energy that has been locked up, frozen, held back, is being released now, with this first surge into fire. Those who have felt too held back, frustrated, may break out of bounds and rage beyond control. There will be blowouts, as there were in the Gulf, and outbreaks of social unrest, as we have seen in Greece where rioters sent banks on fire, with people trapped inside, or in Thailand where a luxury shopping mall was torched and burnt to a black ruin.

Uranus in Aries makes us burn for change. It carries a tremendous creative force, a force that can awaken the inner light of each individual. Many things will be set in motion during its passage in the sign. Uranus carries the archetype of freedom, and in Aries, places it in the hands of each individual. Where individuals feel trapped, or burdened by a system that curtails their choice, sparks can fly. Where we turn our attention to what is emerging, to possibilities of change and innovation, to invention, there is the pure joyful force of the new. What is the life we are meant to live? Who are we meant to be?

Uranus enters Aries May 27 and will stay till mid August, returning next spring for six more years. Just after it enters the sign, on June 6, it is joined by Jupiter in a joyful pairing, bringing a rare time of opening and release. It is lighting the first fuse of the time to come. During this summer it will rub up against five other major planets in a rare celestial configuration. We have not seen its likes for over forty years.

Uranus in Aries can be gentle, it can come with the tender force of young green leaves, the gambol of a new born lamb. When it is welcomed, it infuses our life with renewal. Right now it is rubbing against the old structures. That friction is making sparks fly, tempers are short, If we are feeling trapped, if change seems impossible, then Shiva dances his destructive dance. If we can welcome and grasp what is moving in our lives, they may take an entirely new direction."
