Hi Mouse16,

The primary aspect of Pluto is that of what lies hidden, the capacity for transformation, power (use and mis-use) along with other more subtle energies.

The primary aspect of Chiron is that of the wounded healer.

The houses they are in and the signs they are in will give you more information along with other aspects from the other planets and angles.

Depending on the planets and opposition usually gives some sort or power struggle between the 2 energies of the 2 planets.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Sue

Thanks. Pluto is in the 12th house, so overall I'm thinking this is not really a happy aspect!

Don't stress about this, Mouse. My astrology teacher has Pluto opposite Chiron, as does Barack Obama - they both seem to be doing ok. My Pluto is in the 12th house, as is that of my ex-husband, and we've survived!

Pluto in whatever house is about intense experiences, about a challenge to our survival, death issues, power struggles, facing the darkness within. The challenge of Pluto is to heal and experience renewal and regeneration. Pluto in the 12th house is about pre-birth experiences, experience of death in early life e.g. the death of a parent (as happened to me), or witnessing great pain and suffering within the family. This can make you sensitive to your own pain and that of others. Pluto in 12th can develop an interest in mysticism. There is an association with institutions like hospitals and prisons - either being in one or choosing to work in one.

This is just a brief overview - there is more, much more, but you need to look at the whole chart.

Astrology is fascinating to read about! The 'interest in mysticism' is spot on for me.

I like to delve into esoteric subjects full stop but really am looking for clues to my vocation/career as I've always been very very confused about it! Also have Uranus in the 12th House.

I can see from what I've read that focusing on one house in particular, i.e. the 12th, is only a small part of the picture but.....would like to understand more about this house as it seems to point towards some deep stuff.

Uranus in the 12th house also points to an interest in spiritualism. People with Uranus in the 12th can feel odd, out of synch, anxious, and fear breaking down. Journeying within is the key to healing here. The mid-heaven is the main indicator of career/vocation - but the rest of the chart has to be taken into consideration. The 12th house is indeed about deep stuff - what lies beneath; it's the house of karma and our own undoing. If you have a lot of planets in the 12th, it's no wonder you're confused. Why don't you have a proper reading with a good astrologer who can advise you? My teacher does consultations by skype or 'phone if you are not within striking distance of south London.

Well, it's only the 2 planets in the 12th (but I guess that is enough!).

I'm not sure about having a proper reading at this stage, just like to delve a bit. There is a problem in that I don't know my exact birth time. I know that it was somewhere between 9-12pm, so my midheaven is either in Cancer or Gemini but can't be sure.
