Just wondering if people saw this? It was all about finding out if where the amazons came from. They found a tomb that had not been graved robbed so everything was intact. It turned out it all came from the nomads and they traced this skeletons dna to a little mongolian girl who was 9. It was amazing 😀
RE: Priestess Warrior
I just caught the program, it was great. It may be found at PBS.org and was by Davis-Kimball, she did some fantastic research on the Amazon women and their history in the Steppes of Russia. They found a mass burial ground and one was a warrior priestess, 2500 years ago. She ties the amazons that fought at Troy to a little blond girl deep in the remote mountains of Kazak Mongolia by DNA. Interesting was the story of the amazons coming to the aid of Troy and winning a battle before their leader squared off with Achilles in a one on one fight where she lost and because of her cocky attitude he killed her only to remove her golden mask and fall in love. The remaining amazons were captured and put on a ship back to Greece but overtook the ship and sailed to S. Russia
and mixed in with the peoples and called themselves the Sarmations.
The Sarmations have been mentioned with a link to King Arthur.
Their emblem seems to have been a cat like panther, very cool.
Someone should research the Amazons link to the white mummies discovered in west china desert that were believed to have come from
the steppes, I'm not sure. There also was a woman gladiator found I believe around London that now may have been Sarmation.

RE: Priestess Warrior
a very late reply. I only saw this thread now...
I have been really fascinated by this story, first when I watched the documentary on the BBC.
I then ordered the book by Davis-Kimball "Warrior women" and read it and it blew me away.
I recommend it to anyone into archeaology and women in prehistroy. i found it also very spiritual, as it mentions preitress classes and current remnants of shamanism.
If interested, read this book also: "when women were drummers" by Lynn Redmond (I think..), fabulous. alos great music from this musician.
RE: Priestess Warrior
I have not had opportunity to catch this show but love everything about the Amazonian women. My friends call me a warrior woman and I not only feel a strong affinity to the legendary Amazonian Women but think I have quite a bit of carry over from that life time. I do not remember anything specific except that I once was a warrior priestess and that in order to be trained as a Priestess I had to first prove myself as a Warrior Woman. I'd like to know if anyone else ever feels this way? After all the legend wasn't of just one Amazonian woman but of a tribe. It would be nice to meet my former sisters.
RE: Priestess Warrior
hello,
you must go and read this book then: "warrior women" by Davis-Kimball!
