Hi Everyone
I am on an amazing spiritual journey at the moment. I have only very recently connected with my psychic self and each day I am discovering new, powerful things about myself and the world. 2 nights ago I had an amazing dream where I was healed, and in this dream I was instructed to study I Ching - in fact I was told that it was I Ching that healed me. I know nothing about I Ching, but am now very keen to know more and would really welcome any suggestions for studying etc and any indications for how I Ching can be used in healing.
I have also just been meditating messages from myanimal spirit guides and I was sent an image which looked like a number 8 on it's side with a vertical line through the middle. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could symbolise.
Many many thanks

RE: I Ching
Hi Rachhs
My response to this is that the I Ching is a book of divination. Ancient Chinese. You create hexagrams - grids of six lines - by throwing three coins of equal denomination. Once you have your hexagram, you can look up the corresponding commentary which may, or may not, help you in making decisions.
I used to consult the I Ching in my late teens and have recently purchased a new copy called The Authentic I Ching by Dr Wang Yang and Jon Sandifer from Cygnus Books. I haven't waded thru it yet, because it looks quite heavy going but it is easy to find out how to create a hexagram and to read it. If I'd thought about it, I should have gone to a good bookstore with a Mind, Body, Spirit section and perhaps chosen a more user friendly version.
As far as the horizontal 8 with bar is concerned, all that occurs to me is that an eight lying on its side is the mathematical symbol for infinity. Maybe someone knows what the bar means.

RE: I Ching
I used to use the I Ching a lot. This is my book, but the actual copy is in a box, so I had to go to amazon.com to find a picture of the front cover to identify it. A pic was not available on amazon.co.uk.
I don't know if this will work as a link, but at least you have the title and author, and I found it very user friendly, not "heavy" at all, and startlingly accurate!

Hol.
PS: Yes, the link seems to work ... for now anyway 😉
RE: I Ching
if the 8 is vertical (as the number 8), and there is a line in the middle...
this is a bit far fetched but this calls immediately a symbol from antiquity to my mind: the snake coiled around the sword...in many instances, meaning: medicine.
