My dad's got interested in the I Ching since having started Tai Chi last year but due to a rather 'esoterically written' book, he's given it up as New Age tut. I was wondering whether anyone knows if there's any ways he could find out about the subject that's more simply explained and a bit more engaging? What would be the best way to find out more- books, courses, videos?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

RE: I Ching
Try Stuart Olson's Tai Chi according to the I Ching.
RE: I Ching
WOuld yoube able to personally reccommend the book you mention? I have searched around on Amazon and can't find a book review[&o]
RE: I Ching
OOh, I've just found this review:
Tai Chi According to the I Ching
Embodying the Principles of the Book of Changes
This book presents a practice that is a correlation of two major Taoist philosophies, T`ai Chi and the I Ching. Olson shows how the eight trigrams of the I Ching relate to the eight basic postures of T`ai Chi and how together they comprise the orderly sequence of the postures in the Before Heaven T`ai Chi form, the foundation of all T`ai Chi forms.

Has he got a set of I Ching cards? They are easy and fun and incredibly accurate too?
RE: I Ching
I am not familiar with the cards but they would probably go good with coins or the small sticks used for divination.
RE: I Ching
Do you have a set of cards to recommend Crystal?
RE: I Ching
I have been using the I ching since I was 11 and I think it is brilliant. I can't remember the original book I got from the library but that was the best one I had. However, I still use one from the Pocket Prophecy range called I Ching by Mary Clark.
It is really simple and easy to use. The explainations, are great - simple but it provides all the names and weather variations so you can add your own interpretation. The interpretations make sence, and are easy to understand. It gives both the stick and coin method of divination and I have been using this book for seven years and for seven years it's been spot on even when it's explanations were too impossible to believe they still turned out to be correct. Not bad for a little pocket book!!
Love and Light,
Sig
RE: I Ching
I love the I Ching. Back in the mid-'70s, a professor of East Indian studies taught it to me. He used The I Ching or Book of Changes (Wilhelm/Baynes translation), and it is one I have continued to use throughout the years. Probably the best book on the subject you could find. Here's the link:

Hi
I have been recommended to get a book on the I Ching by Caroline Anthony - don't know the ISBN or anything else - I have various other versions of the I Ching which need quite a bit of contemplation upon. However, it is an exellent and ancient divinatory aid.

There doesn't seem to be a book on the I Ching by Caroline Anthony, but I did find one by Carol K. Anthony. Could this be it?
RE: I Ching

RE: I Ching
I'm a rather old hand, in every way (I'm 61), with the "I Ching," and I have used it a lot over the years (Wilhelm/Baynes trans.). I usually use the 3 coins method, but there are some nifty little plastic sticks (6) which are even handier---you can find them in most occult bookstores or shops. I will add only one thing, perhaps somewhat cautionary. The I Ching has been so "right" so many times that it really does scare the bejesus out of me sometimes, especially in important matters. It's not like a "Ouija Board" or anything---you get your own meaning from it---but it is incredibly in tune with reality. So if you do not really want to know the future, and some of us don't or at least not all, then avoid it. 'Nuff said!
