We visited West Kennet Long Barrow a couple of years ago whilst on holiday. Silbury Hill is clearly visible about 1/4 of a mile away.

We had the bonus of seeing crop circles - my first time, and got to stand in one in a corn stubble field on the way up to the barrow. All the corn had been harvested but where it had been flattened in the circle it was still there. I Loved Avebury. Have been a couple of times now ...it's spooky how big it is when you walk round it. Living TV did a most haunted programme from the pub there, it's supposed to be fairly active. Imagine how surprised we were to see that the bay window area we had sat and eaten our meal in, was one of the areas of activity! I never noticed the chandelier swinging 😉

Yes, I have been to Silbury Hill and Avebury. It is a mysterous place, I am sure that a ley line intersects there somewhere. I remember travelling with my husband to Avebury, and for no apparent reason, we both became agitated and began to argue with each other. We arrived to find amateur dowsers with rods, walking around and disturbing the energy fields. I went into immediate trance and my husband fainted. It is not a place to treat lightly, Reikeangel, and please be careful when you and your group visits the place. I would not want you to be disturbed and upset as we were. I am not surprised that crop circles, ghosts and UFO's have been seen there. Definitely a centre for Earth energy.

I have also been to both, although I almost always get lost on the way!! Around this time last year, a friend of mine Maybel Hopcroft did some worj at Silbury opening a huge vortex which was to do with the ascension process. I can't remember the full details unfortunately, but it was almost a year to the day that the hamronic concordance took place.

Funny this should come up, my late mother hated the place, couldn't go near it. Went once and walked around and said she felt 'evil' everywhere, even in the animals???

Her mother lived in that direction, and Dad was very keen on the history on various places around there, but, after that first visit, she wouldnt get out of the car!!!

I've never been myself.

How did you get on today Reikiangel, did you make it down to Avebury at all? Colin and I also decided that we would go, as the skulls (crystal skulls) seemed to be asking for us to go there today, and we so we drove all the way in the pouring rain. Sometimes they just want us to drive them along particular routes rather than to do work at these places, and I get the feeling that this was what today was very much about. We only spent an hour and half there in total, as it was too wet and cold to do much outdoors. The skulls seemed happy with that though anyway!!

It felt so right to be there we all got a good soaking being there was certainly a test of our determination to be there. Love and light to you all.

Hi everyone, especially hi to my dear friend Somerset Angel!!
Where do I begin?! The weather was absolutely dire, it rained the whole time, absolute buckets of the stuff. We got soaked through and only just drying out now!
None of us knew why we all felt so compelled to go but it was definatley the right thing to have done. Somerset Angel and I got to Avebury first and had a wander around some of the stones. It was amazing. The stones were SO cold it was painful to place your hands on them. Even though it was raining the temp. was mild for this time of year and the almost iciness of the stones came as a surprise. But, as we touched each stone they varied in the intensity of freezing. One stone was 'warmer' at the bottom part than it was at the top. Some stones had indentations (not holes) that were quite deep but when you placed your hand over them they 'blew' out warmer air.
Somerset Angel and I then went to the inner circle and again the stones were so cold it was painful to touch them. While we were there Crows had been circling the outer edge of the field we were in but all of a sudden they took flight banked to the right then went into a formation that became an arrowhead which came staight towards us, it was amazing to see. We left the field to go back to the carpark to await the rest of the group. As it was nearly dusk by the time they arrived they only had time to get to the first field of the stones but they also commented on hw cold the stones were, as if they had been in a freezer for a very long time. We then went to the place we were booked in overnight and decided to come back in the morning.

The next day it was raining even harder (if that was possible) but we set off again and headed for the centre stones. On the way I had a picture of the 7 of us standing in a circle around the male stone right in the centre of the circle and linking hands. I mentioned this to Somerset Angel who had also had the same vision. When we were all together we asked the others what they thought we should do and they all said "Oh, link together of course, we were shown the image of what to do!", so that is what we did.
There was nobody else in sight, just us which felt specail and as the rain beat down on us we linked hands and I felt impressed to say a few words to the higher powers that had got us there for this occassion and to use our bodies to anchor the energies coming in to the Earth. At that point the wind really whipped up from nowhere and buffeted us around a bit and then died down again. Then another member started to sing quietly a song she had written which sounded beautiful. When she finished I suddenly got the urge to move and asked if anyone else felt that we needed to move 7 steps to the left then 7 steps to the right? The answer was a resounding 'yes!' So, slipping around in the mud and rain that is what we did.
After that we felt some more music was neede so the same member who had sung then played her recorder which again was just right for that moment. We then linked hands and sent energy which felt like white light racing around us then the image of the centre stone errupting in white light and showering us all . We then 'saw' different things, one member saw the Universe swirling around with a vortex in the middle. Another had the word'open' keep playng in his head. Others saw gold and orange light coming from the centre stone and we were all rocking in towards the stone and then back out again as if pulled by a magmet. Some saw the figure 8, some saw many white crosses and the figure 8 made in rope. We then felt that we had to take this energy out to the 'female' stones and then to the sentinel stones outside of them. Before we did this though we felt we needed to hug each other which was quite an emotional moment. We 'knew' we had done some very important work for the energy of the stones.

I read your amazing account with a sense of de-ja-vue. Although I have never been there, I met a lady - who is now a dear friend- in July. She originally asked me for a plain selenite pendant, but took 2 long plain selenite wands with her to Avebury and Silbury Hill later that month. She had almost identical experiences to those you have described (she too, is a member of a circle whose work is for the healing of the Earth and power places in the world).
She also went on to Silbury Hill and found the fence you mention. She took lots of rose quartz with her and felt the need to throw them over the fence all around the hill.
When we met later she told me she felt she had to go back there as she felt the emergies of the rose quartz was being blocked by the fence. After a semi-meditation we agreed that on her next visit she throw whatever crystals she was drawn to onto the other side of the ditch to allow the crystals energies to reflelct back outwards from the hill and to be able to lift above the fencing.
My friend returned in October and did just that and experienced the same energy vortex on the top of the hill you experienced at Avebury.
throughout those few months while all this was going on with my friend, I felt very closely connected with her work there and that of the circle she is with.
Can't explain any of this, just wanted to share it with you.
It seems there is a great need for energy healing around these stones and the hill.

I am glad Reiki Angel has explained what happened to you all. As you can see I was rather out of it. What an experience. To talk in this strange language, when we brock from our circle in the middle the first stone I went to I saw all these symbols in front of my eyes like pages of a book scrolling in front of me. I then observed myself talking and ritualisticaly passing my hands over the stones. I repeated some words to some stones and other words to other stones. I felt very emotional at some of the stones and more ritual and words were spoken.

Someone came up to me and I spoke to her in this strange voice and language she seem to understand. We walked towards two big stones that are like an arch and as I turned round It felt like an arch way entrance and all the stones looked like a laberinth. At that stange I was able to speak in my own voice and just think wow!!! I felt honoured to have been part of somthing very special.

Funny how things work out.

I was prodded toward this forum by a US friend, and had a few minutes to spare. In surfing, this was the thread I happened upon, on my first hour here. Pretty amazing stuff, for sure. Raises all kinds of questions (for me). While I have had so many mystical experiences, I also tend in the following days to back and question (in the neutral, not negative) sense, how I feel about it in "normal" consciousness. Just in my nature.

So I'd be thinking over such things as, Let's put it down again from 'normal level' consciousness just what may have happened. Is there anyway of delving into how much was objective (outside of oneself and truly real in that sense), or subjective (real in itself as an experience, but possibly psychological, even if positive).

The thing about the above, described by you, is that it was mutually experienced by a number of persons, which points of course to 'objective' - whatever that is lol. Now, skeptics would still be crying "mass hysteria", yet we can leave them to themselves.

By the way, my apologies for being so seemingly innane. Am not. Rather, your account(s) were pretty amazing, and thanks for sharing them. Now right upon going to sleep I have to process what I think of them as if they were my own - for the descriptions were vivid, well done.

Have been to the ol' Glastonbury so many weekends, but never actually ever to those sites. Funny - I've tended to travel the globe to far-out mystical sites thousands of miles away, but neglected those in my back yard which others travel thousands of miles to :-).

I went to Avebury a couple of weeks ago. It was sheeting down with rain, but that made no difference. I went up to the Long Barrow, and also to the Sanctuary, where I meditated. I felt such strong energy there, and around the stone circle.

When I arrived home, I received a frantic message from one of my friends. He had been 'picking me up' all day, and was worried that something was wrong. He had inadvertently 'tuned in' to me whilst I was meditating at Avebury!

Many many times. After I passed my driving test, whilst living in Swindon, I used to practice my "country driving" by going out there every weekend. I've even been on top of Silbury Hill a few times, but don't tell the geese;)

So I've spent a lot of time in Avebury, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow and, of course, the Waggon and Horses at Beckhampton. Wonderful places, although the Long Barrow was pretty disturbing the first time I went. Still can't put my finger on why, other than it just felt like whoever was there didn't want to be disturbed that particular day.

I have been a few times and missed out on this energy, although admittedly I wasnt on the path I am now.

I'm surprised with myself I havent been recently. Especially as I only live in Swindon (Yeah I know, well someone has to...)

I stumbled upon the Long Barrow quite by accident, and found it to be a warm, happy place, full of good energy and warmth. I didn't know any history about this place at all, but I instantly felt it to be wonderful, energising place. A place "to be at one with oneself". It was one of those places where I could have lived and called home. I said so the people I was with, and was so intrigued I looked it up on HP, and now realise I will have to go back next year!

An up-date on the Avebury stones.

Last month we had our Reiki share group and it was one of those evenings where just the 4 women turned up. It was a STRANGE evening I can tell you!. When it was time to send reiki to those named in our healing book we linked hands but before we could start 'sending' we had an attack of the giggles, so much so we were laughing so much we were crying! This has never happened before so we broke the link, tried to compose ourselves and started again but again we couldn't stop laughing. This was so strange.
Once we had composed ourselves we sent reiki energy but I had the wierdest 'visions'. I saw black and white butterflies, then a cross in 3D with light shining out around its edges. Then a stick with a vortex of energy running down it. I then saw a pyramid with brilliant white light shining from the top with an Egyptian eye on the side of it.
I then saw I was standing in a corner of a field and could see standing stones and knew that I was at Avebury! I looked down and saw a square shape in the grass with lots of little boxes with their edges outlined in grass. I asked my guides why was I there and a male voice distinctly said "it's time to activate the grid. Activate the grid now". Well, when we discussed what had happened we each had seen strange things ( 'curvy' buildings, penguines, standing stones) but everything had been in black and white for the others too.
Now, we are wondering is it the time to go back to Avebury to complete what was started last time? Funny enough (or not!), 3 of the original 7 will be down in Somerset in July to attend a healing weekend in Devon. A coincidence?

Have just come back from a WONDERFUL healing weekend in SOMERSET!. The three-day event is held each year and it was wonderful to go along and join in all the workshops etc. I have drummed (FANTASTIC!), walked the Shamanic Path,learnt about healing animals,found out one of my past lives was in Neanderthal times ( saw me as a man who fell off a ridge into a roaring torrent of water and drowned),learnt how to use a crystal ball, the list just goes on....BRILLIANT!!!.

The reason I have put this here is that today my friend and I went to Avebury stones on the way home and felt that the stones were not feeling as energetic as the last time. Gave some energy to the 'male' stone of the circle and my friend 'saw' a white dome of light under the stone with an eye looking out at her, made her feel very peaceful. We then went to Silbury Hill to send energy to the 'grid' ( was told in a recent meditation that it was time to activate the grid'). The energy was amazing that was coming up through the ground. I put my hands on my friend's shoulders and couldn't believe thew amount of energy passing between us!. So, have done what we can to help this year, let's hope it was enough!

Hi - just had to post on here - having found this post and info on Fire the Grid within about half an hour of each other.

Reikiangel - I would love to hear if you have had any other meditations that mention activating the grid? I have in the last few months been soooo very drawn to earth healing and earth energy centres and what you experienced at Avebury with Somerset Angel sounds just wonderful and exciting.

Please let us have an update.

Hi Wispy~Misty and thank you for your interest in what happened to our share group.
So much has gone on since that event and I now find myself living in Somerset, 'pulled' by the energy. One member has felt compelled to sell up everything in England and moved lock,stock and barrel to Spain! It feels as if we are being put into the right place for when we are needed? We all feel that it will be sooner rather than later when we get the 'call' so watch this space!
