Cleopatra was one of the last of the ptolemaic rulers in Egypt. The bust that was found show that she was greek. Plutarch wrote of Cleopatra that she was not a special beauty but her personality was attractive and her conversation so charming that one felt bewitched. It was a pleasure to just hear her voice and without effort Cleopatra could switch from one language into another. She seldom needed a translator. She mixed sex with politics in her own way. She aspired to create a new egypt with charming roman men of state (Caesar and Marcus Antonius). The battle of Aktion 31 bc was the start of Augustus career and the end of Cleopatra's.

RE: A tribute to Cleopatra
Ah yes but did you know that when Augustus Ceasar was asked which month he wanted to commemorate him, he chose September and not August as would have been expected. He chose September because that was the month that Cleaopatra died and he admired her so much.
