I've been vegetarian for a few months now, and buy meat substitutes ( mainly quorn 2-3 times a week). What I've noticed in the last few days that my stomach seems to have flattened out slightly, and I bloat up less. I was wondering if my change in diet could be the cause.:)

quorn has a much lower fat content than meat, so yes I do think the change in your diet is one of the causes of a flatter tum.

Slimming world has quorn mince as a no points food whereas meat has to be carefully measured on a green day

Thanks for the info tigress :), hooray for the invention of quorn as i've been wondering how to shift the surplus fat off my belly ( legacy of child birth, albeit twelve years ago!:o)

Calla - I use quorn quite a bit and if you marinate it for anything from 20 mins or more before using it in a dish it really perks it up! I use all sorts of spices (smoked paprika is a favourite), put it with tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, use a small amount of a flavoured oil or just put it in the sauce to stand or simmer gently before adding veg etc.
Its certainly a lot better than TVP!
Keep meaning to try and get into using tofu but not had much joy from it the first couple of times I tried and really should try again.

Ta for the tip Celia 🙂 I had some quorn 'chicken' fillets today and they certainly needed some spicing up- they were blander than an episode of this year's X factor!
