RE: vegan wine

Kumala wines are vegan most shops sell them so is Stowells wines vegan. Sainsburys organic wines are mostly vegan. Co-op wines are labelled suitable for vegans so you need to check the labels.Tesco wines are labelled suitable for veggies so need to check if any of them are vegan.

Please see the above link to just clarify exactly which Kumala wines are vegan - its only their organic wines which are. I wrote to them a while ago and they confirmed this but I see it is on their website too.

If in doubt, always contact the manufacturer and they are more than happy to clarify.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Angelique

While I am here , I also get my wine from [link= http://www.viva.org.uk/ ]http://www.viva.org.uk/[/link] shop , they have a great wine club to join and yes they are vegan , its good too coz you can get them in bulk ,meaning its cheaper and its also delieverd to your door too.
I have done this and got a white wine box, very good too.

RE: vegan wine

Its amazing how many folks think its just grapes.

In the fining side of wine making, they use isinglas (swim bladders of fish), gelatine and blood!!

Its funny that if I do drink red wine that is not vegan (by accident) I am sure I can taste the blood yuk.

Vintage Roots [link= http://www.vintageroots.co.uk/home.asp ]http://www.vintageroots.co.uk/home.asp[/link]

have a great selection of organic wines most of which are at least vegetarian.

Just did a search on their site for organic white vegan wine and there's pages ..

you have to buy in full cases i.e. multiples of 12 (which can me mixed) but the selection is enormous

I think M&S have a great range of wines suitable for vegetarians. I would say that Tesco is the worst. They sent me a list of all the wines and alcohol and to be fair, Tescos was crap. Say no more. Sainsburys like other supermarket own labels do display if suitable. I think Asda need to do a bit more work thoughas i wont buy a wine if is does not say it is suitable for veggies.....

Sainsbury's own brands are actually quite good... they do a lovely chateau neuf de pape which is vegan, plus quite a good cava too. The Sancere is a bit acidic, but the rose is just lovely!

The co-op is the best for labelling. Also I have a list of Asda vegan foods/wines.

I love co op wine, you can get fairtrade and vegan in the one bottle, good reason to have a drink.

I'm not a wine drinker, although I have heard great things about Sedlescombe organic wines. I did visit the vineyard when I lived in Sussex and witnessed the glowing response from my friend.

Sedlescombe products are suitable for vegetarians (gelatine-free) and Registered with the Vegan Society (no animal derived products).
