I just wanted to recommend a restaurant in London and some books by the author that you may be interested in. The restaurant (well he has two by the same name) are called Ottolenghi - they aren't 'vegetarian' but have an amazing range of vegetarian offerings.
Yotam Ottolenghi (owner and chef) has also published two excellent books, the second, Plenty, is purely vegetarian. He has also been writing the New Vegetarian column in the Guardian Weekly for about four years which is the basis for his new book. Though apparently the fact he himself isn't vegetarian caused some upset amongst some of the Guardian readers.
If you are looking for some new ideas and inspiration these books are highly recommended. Even as a devout Omnivore with distinct Carnivore leanings I have enjoyed menu recipies from his books.

Hi has anyone eaten here? If so would you recommend it.
Thanks
I haven't eaten there but after reading fozzyo's post, I looked at "Plenty" online and actually ordered it. It arrived today and I can confirm that it is a fantastic recipe book for vegetarians.
A friend of mine loves Ottolenghi's and is always singing its praises. Actually I didn't realise it was a restaurant as she seemed to refer to it as a take away food place with amazing cakes! She got them to cater for her 50th birthday and I must say the food was totally delicious.
Must admit I thought it was a takeaway and the cakes are fabulous! I've bought some at the Notting Hill branch for a friend's birthday. Not cheap but gorgeous as a treat.
