Hey a few of us who are Vegetarian are off to New York in a few weeks time and think that food may be a issue for us.

We have all looked on some websites but they aren't as helpful as we would like, can anyone recommend any good veggie restaurants near to Times Square or recommend any good clear websites.

Thanks
Goodchild

RE: New York - FOOD

Hi, was in NY for the 1st time in March - all the restrauants that we went into had a veggie menu - so you should be ok.

Word of advice though - make sure that your shoes are broken in as we must have walked about 6-7 miles each day. Wear layers as well - we had a warm spell and it was in the 70's.

The Subwayis safe anda cheap way to get around. If you wantto go over to the Satue of Liberty -you need to be at the ticket office at 9am at the latest - otherwise you will queue for ages - your hotel might be able toget tickets in advance for you. We didn't go because we gotthere too late and was told that we would have to queue for at least 2 hours.

If you intend to go up the Empire state building - don't pay to go up to the extra bit as it isn't worth the expense. - The Rockerfeller centre also has a tower that you can go up - that is worth the money.

Have a nice time - wish I was going with you.

RE: New York - FOOD

I too went to NY in Feb - iam soooo sad that iam home!!! Hoping to go back in November.

You will have the best time - and yes, the best way to get around the city is by foot - that wayyou can really take it all in.

I booked tickets on the internet for the Empire state building - well worth it - no queues - although the staff there were the rudest i have ever come across.

If you need any info feel free to PM me.
