Hi
I am new here so please be nice to me! 🙂
Ihave recently started a new pilates class where everyone else is so well turned out that they put my old baggytracksuit trousers and mis-shapen t-shirt to shame. As I have a birthday coming up and my OH wants ideas for pressie buying, I thought that a new trendy kit for pilates would be good. Can anyone please suggest brands to look for (I am thinking of flared/bootcut trousers with v neck short sleeve top), which are hopefully available online.
Thanks in advance

RE: Pilates - what to wear?

From the point of view of a Pilates teacher - we want to be able to see thecontours of the body (I find the boot cut/flare flap around the ankles soI can't see the alignment of that joint properly). it's alwayshelpful to the teacherto wear stuff that is fairly close-fitting. Sorry, can't help on brands - not my thing!

hi sheldon [sm=wave.gif]and welcome to HP!

when i went to a pilates class a couple of years ago, virtually everyone was dressed as you were but they were elderly ladies so they were dressing for comfort and not for fashion! i just wore a plain t-shirt and a pair of comfy trousers where they didn't restrict my movements and not a brand name in sight! ( unless you count tesco value t-shirt range a brand[sm=rollaugh.gif])

warm wishes- calla lily x

when i went to pilates we all wore pretty much the same: stretchy t shirt that wouldn't ride up when you've got your legs in the air and soft, slightly loose leggings/track pants. no-one was there to look at what every one else was wearing and, quite honestly, i wouldn't have felt comfortable in a class where it felt like it mattered a damn!

Hi Sheldon,

I was the same as you when I first started Pilates. But I have found a website that does some lovely stuff, although rather pricey!

It's [link= http://www.belaforma.com ]www.belaforma.com[/link]. The quality is really great & very comfortable. Have a look. I know look the part, like my pilates teacher!!!

Oh, I beg to differ on Asquith quality - althoiugh the designs are attractive they are nothing like as robust as reebok or UsaPro or almost any other brand. And the colour fades. And they are expensive in comparison to normal sports brands. However they do do a nice diamonte detail.
