Hi there
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a suitable beginners pilates weekend, preferably in the Midlands or London? It would be a present for my mum. We can't go to classes together as we live in different towns, so I thought that a pilates weekend would be good.

I'm a Pilates teacher - but I can't think of any luna. Why don't you have a look at googling health clubs - they probably do some such.
Be a bit careful though - lots of so-called Pilates teachers are aerobics teachers who've done a weekend's training, and they do more harm than good.
The Register of Exercise Professionals has just awarded Industry Award Level 3 (equivalent to NVQs or 3 good A levels) to Body Control Pilates and to FutureFit. Pilates Foundation are very good, but haven't gotten around to going through the trauma of the Industry Award. The rest .......are very varied and have not attained this level yet. Anyone that has is on the REP web-site.

Oh, you are probably looking to involve your mum in some hotel based group class sort of week-end. Depending on how much you want to spend and if it is London, well I could help you. I am a Level 3 Body Control trained Pilates teacher. An active member of this organisation and the Register of exercise Professionals.
