I have a Sky dish but don't pay for Sky channels so always assumed that I couldn't get any Sky programmes. Thus I never really looked at any of the channels, although I did discover that I could watch The Dog Whisperer on Sky 3. However, flicking through this evening, I noticed a channel called Body in Balance on 275 and found that I could watch it. Lo and behold at 8.30 there was a Pilates class on. I wished I hadn't just eaten otherwise I could have joined in. Looking through the listings for next week I learned that Pilates is on every evening at 8.30pm and there's quite a few yoga classes too. If only I'd known....Well, I know now and sincerely hope I find the willpower to take part in the classes - in the comfort of my living room.

............, although I did discover that I could watch The Dog Whisperer on Sky 3. ..........

Like the Pilates stuff, I have also recorded most of Cesar Milan's programmes, and have put some of his instructions to good use during home visits where there are some particularly 'aggressive' dogs (although they are not aggressive really - just bored and anxious). I've been asked if I could move in with one of my clients, simply because I 'whispered' on arrival and Lucy 'the dog' hasn't misbehaved since!!!)

Hi Jabba

Unfortunately I haven't got a video recorder so that's out. But it's good to know that the programmes are on every evening. I haven't looked to see if the programmes are on at other times of the day....perhaps they are.

We've both posted on another thread about how good Cesar Millan is. I would love to have a dog, just to be able to put into practice all I've learned watching his show. In the street the other day a woman was shouting at her dog, obviously expecting him to understand every word, and I so wanted to say 'you know, all he hears is blah blah blah.'

I do hope your a bit more disciplined than I am at watching / partaking in TV exercise Sunanda... I taped the series of Kundalini yoga pre last Christmas from Sky...they are still on the hard-drive taking up space..and I have never joined in with one programme yet!!! :o:o

Disciplined is not a word that applies to me, fleur....Except when I get my whip out on the footie thread!!! And then I'm disciplining the unruly mob. Self discipline is a whole different ball game...

Hi Sunanda, thank you, what a great tip: same as you we've got a Sky box but not all Sky channels, but I had a look this morning and we've got that channel too! So have immediately set up some recordings for yoga, pilates and meditation for the coming week. 🙂

i also discovered this about a month ago. its great. there is also another one called 'fitness tv' which also does pilates, yoga and other stuff. there is a weight training class on fitness tv, with an oriental bloke who is brilliant. i cant remember his name but its aimed at blokes, but its a beginners class and its really good. u can get quite a few of the 'fitness tv' classes on their website and do them when u want to. unfortunately the body in balance website doesnt let you do that. you can download and watch them but it is only a sample of the class 🙁 there is also another channel but i cant remember the name of it. if you have sky they are both higher than body in balance which i think is channel 275? so do a bit of channel hopping....

Is the bellydancing still on? I love it, and its such a fun way to exercise as long as no one else is looking:D

Hi Binah
I keep having a scan for it although its not been on for a few weeks. I just about managed the figure eight but as soon as it sped up and introduced the hand movements I completely lost the place. Dont think my OH thought I looked like an Uber sexy godess as the trainer was saying more like a lovable rag doll. Never mind when it returns I will have another go. In the meantime if anyone has tips on how to improve my coordination please let me know.

Yah that's right record it every episode. So that you should not miss any of them... Then try the pilates in your spare time, the one that you recorded...
