Willow Meditation

Sit or lie in a relaxed state and close your eyes.
Breathe deeply and slowly.

Imagine you are walking through a meadow, the sun is shining, the sky is clear blue, you run your fingers through the tall grass. You hear the birds singing and see the colourful flowers dancing with the grass.
As you walk alone you know you are safe and secure.
You come to a gate which you open and walk through,
closing it behind you and you feel the latch click.
Your journey continues along a path towards the woods. You see the toadstools, any little folk? and the little animals peeping through the ferns, as the sun streams through the tree tops.
The path leads to the side of a clean winding river.

There is a Willow tree at the side of the river
with a comfortable seat leaning against it.
Just for you.....it has your name carved in it.
Before you sit down do you notice anything?
A sound, an animal, an object or anything else......
perhaps there’s a gift on the seat for you to take away?
Now...be seated...and relax into your breathing.
Let the Willow draw all your tension and stress
from your mind and your body, let it all go.
Feel the place where the energy is leaving.
Pause................

Let the Willow comfort and cosset you with it’s branches,
it's greatest joy is to receive your tension..and help you to heal
Feel the stress, worries, concern, negative energies
rising up the tree trunk....along it’s branches.....
and flow off the ends
which are dipping into the clean flowing water
To be carried away into infinity.

(Pause)

...........................................

When you are ready
take the gift and walk back the way you came.
Through the wood, along the path,
see the light dapple through the trees,
Notice the ferns, the animals the toadstools
Open the gate, walk through and close it tight behind you.
Walk along the path to the meadow, smell the grass, hear the birds, see the flowers swaying in the light breeze.
The sun is warm on your skin through the clear blue sky....
and open your eyes.
Contemplate the gift from your unconscious.

Tina

Another nice one Fleur. You could make a journal of meditations along with your own artwork for each one. 🙂

Well, It's no use me keeping my ramblings locked up in my own heart and mind. Time to let them move forward.

If people enjoy or are inspired to try them to help themselves in anyway, then that makes me happy :),
and that's a goal of mine for 2009...... to feel happy :FIFangel::dance:

I love this fleur, you are so creative. 🙂

I found myself doing the meditation as I was reading it, and it feels for me like a beautiful and gentle emotional cleanse...not sure if that is the water or the willow!

I have huge trouble grounding my ideas too...and find with all things in life I have to make sure I focus as much on the roots as I do the branches!

Thank you for sharing!

Love and woodlands,
pure-ki:)

A wonderful and easy to follow meditation. I have created a meditation cd available from which also covers grounding, cleansing and protection of your energy. Love and light, Alex x

Your welcome to use it...:)

You might want to try recording it into an MP3 or something, makes it easier to relax with?
