i have just been reading about pyramid meditation...
im very interested in this,

i would like to make my own pyramid...but not sure, how to make one...
kath...
Well, I've not really looked into Pyramid meditation before, although I do recognise that some people have done this sort of thing, I've never really considered it myself.
Just had a quick look around the web at it, and from what I can gather, the point of it all is that it is supposed to enhance the energy of the meditator and strengthen the meditation, but I'll be honest I'm a little sceptical as there seems to be a fair amount of either egyptian connotations (and some innacurate egyptian "facts") or religious and new age connotations (with crosses or crystals at the pinnacle of the pyramid etc.)
The most complete meditaiton I've found is actually one of the most simple and doesn't require any "tools" or "gadgets", but is simply based on a mantra (the same technique as they teach in Transcendental Meditation, Dynamic Deep Meditation or other mantra meditation teachings). The energy one feels after meditation, in my opinion, comes from successfully becoming still in the practice of meditation, and for that it doesn't involve any connection or attachment to external/physical things.
May I ask, is there any particular reason what you find interesting about the pyramid meditation, and have you tried other meditation techniques (especially trying other techniques first before spending out your hard earned dosh on something as extravegant as a pyramid)?

hiya giles
i have been doing meditation for a few yrs now...
and i have tried different types,
it does work well,i can quieten my mind..
i read up on the pyramid meditation, its popular in india..
i found it very interesting, and just fancied giving it a try,
my son in law, said he would make me a fold away pyramid,
so i do want to try it out...
what do you think of the small pyramids that hold crystals,
and there kept in the bedroom...
Years ago, my then boyfriend, constructed a pyramid of cardboard. I sat inside and went into an amazing meditative trance state. He said I had been in there for half an hour before he became concerned and interrupted to see if I was okay. Unfortunately the cardboard was rather flimsy and did not hold up well after being used by several people.
hi lorna
how did you know about the pyramid ...if you dont mind me asking..
i have done quite a lot of google on it...but cant find much info..
it did say be careful ,i know you can recieve a lot of energy....
im not trying it yet.till i can find out more about it...;)
Angelroses, my boyfriend heard about pyramid therapy at an alternative healing workshop. He wanted to try it. (This was about 30 years ago.) I tried it because he had made the pyramid. In fact, I was very skeptical. However, I was quite amazed at the feeling of directed energy I felt inside of that cardboard structure, and even more surprised about lapsing into a long trance. My mind was very active during the trance. I felt energized afterward.
You can do a search on pyramid therapy. I found several hits. Here is one link which may be of interest:
I was a bit sceptical about 'pyramid power' until I sat under a copper one for a while recently. Within a few short minutes, I was de-toxed, had cords cut, conversed with my spirit friends and emerged invigorated! It is an instant sacred space, but you do have to have the correct dimensions to get the full benefit. I believe there are sites which have these or you could be like my friend, who got her info via meditation on it.
a friend of mine sat inside one in a shop during a visit we took to glastonbury. he appeared quite surprised at the affect after just 5 minutes. apparently supposed to tune your chakras to. i have been using a small cardboard pyramid to sharpen my razor blades for about 7 years; it works as there is no arguing with a blunt razor. have been wanting to build a pyramid for medtating for a while....
This sounds fab, could I just build a pyramid in my garden if I have the correct dimensions 🙂
I seem to remember reading about the pyramids in Dr Fred Bell's Rays of Truth - Crystals of Light. He talked about making them and involved using gold copper and nickel and seemed to create Chi, block negative energies and help detox the body amongst other things. I never got round to looking further into it - but the book was interesting! Perhaps I should look at it again (when I have time to spare).
Pyramids were very popular in Australia in the 80's. So much so that when you drove through certain communities you would see makeshift pyramids constructed from all sorts of random materials. There was also a legitimate business which sold prefabricated pyramid homes which you would assemble yourself. These become quite popular. I don't remember what the reasons were but certain Councils ending up banning them and making changes to their temporary structures bylaws, and they were eventually forced out.
Also in Australia they would put crystals in the centre of the pyramid, and these were specifically used for healing purposes. Clearly this is a variation of the potent detoxes which people upthread mention.
Here in Scotland you can stay in , which are camping cabins. I used to go on cycle tours and stay there for a few days. It's a very different shape to pyramids, so I know I'm not comparing like with like, however I have meditated in them and had very deep experiences.

Forgive my ignorance in this matter, but could you not just use a shop bought teepee? (with the outer removed) :
x
hiya ava,
thanks for the info...still not made a pyramid.....some one mentioned a teepee to me....thinking about that one....:)
hi chakraman
i have read about cardboard pyramids, the small version, yes i do believe they do work on razor blades.....and keep food fresh....im not sure , but i think they can energise bottled water too....kath..:)
hi chakraman,
dont think about building one...do it..lol...then let me know how you get on....and it may prompt me to build one....:)
Teepees are conical, pyramids are not. I believe precise mathematical calculation is in order when building a pyramid.
thanks lorna....its back to a pyramid...lol...:)

i have a pyramid made out of copper piping , a friend made it for me i can hang cystals from the top I also place them in each corner.
there is a difference in energy when you sit in a pyramid i feel it is very healing and keep it just for that type of meditation. I offren use it in my workshops and different people have different experiences when sat in the pyramid I feel what they exerience is what they need at that time in their lives. I have also been on a workshop where the tutor used a crystal pyramid. this involved placing very large crystals on four corners with a chair placed in the middle with a pointer crystal a pyramid shape was drawn in clock wise direction each point beind draw to a point above the person sitting in the chair and this was very powerful too.

Noram,
I find this very interesting as I wish to start crystal meditation but didn't know how to to go about it. could you perhaps PM me some more information on how to carry this out please?
