Hi Guys ..

Just wanted to share this ..

I was in the garden today and I was aware of a cat drinking water from out of a bowl . It's quite warm today and the cat was fixated on drinking .

It kinda looked a bit scraggly and underweight, perhaps a stray . I was a little concerened as the cat wasn't moving at all, It's face was in the bowl and was unaware of anything else .

I started to try and get the cats attention so my presence wouldn't scare it, but it was oblivious that I was there ..

I started to make meow noises like you do lol - but still the cat carried on drinking . By this time I was only 6 ft away from it .

I thought the cat must of not been well as by means of its appearance so I went back inside to get some chicken pieces for it in case he/she was hungry / malnourished .

I came back out and threw some chicken in it's path but still didn't move an inch .

One piece of chicken landed on it's head (lol) and then it jumped out of it's skin and darted over my garden fence with such panic stricken movements ..

On reflection I was in awe of the total one pointedness that the cat was in experience of . The cat was totally oblivious to the outside world and had such a focus on what was present and what was of the moment for him/her ...

Now that's meditation folks ...

that or the cat was plain deaf hehe

I would imagine if is feral or lost it was so thirsty from lack of water in this very dry waether it was desperate to gulp down as much water as possible. Leaving water out for animals and birds right now is a helpful to them all.

Hi Caroline ..

Absolutely .. .

I would say the focus for the cat was on the water and that focus continued whilst it was drinking it, this is similar to a one pointed focus that one can have of one's self or with god or with whoever .

It's when one becomes oblivious to anything other than that . ..

Absolutely sun rose and that's how easy it can be .. .

I remember watching a t.v. documentary a few years ago where a man spent 40 days on top of a mountain in order to fast, and meditate and to raise his vibrations etc .. .

After his 40 day's were up he looked a bit worse for wear as you can imagine and he was asked if he reached enlightenment blah, blah, blah, (lol) and all he said was that he was hungry and couldn't wait to get hold of some kentucky fried chicken .. 😀

And here we have a cat achieving a state that this fella would die for because the focus was 100 % ...

I think Cats are the best meditators. I love watching my cats doing something with such total focus, whether it be drinking water, quietly sitting under the tree, or basking in the sun.
