I have been doing ACEM for eight years now. Surprisingly, the practice comes from Norway but it has spread as far as India and China now. It is non-religious and you don't have to empty your mind or sit in a difficult posture, which I most definitely can't!
To learn, you attend a short weekend course in London. Ideally, you then spend two half hours every day meditating. It does not have to be that much, but of course the more you do it, the more you benefit: the deeper the changes will go.
For more details, look at the U.K. website: Acem Meditation UK.
I love it and I would say it has helped me to know myself better, understand and get on with other people better, relax and see things more in proportion. It is hard to explain really, but my husband says I'm much easier to live with!
